I'm not seeking out hand sanitizer to combat the coronavirus, I'm seeking it out because of the TP shortage.   =)

You would use your hand barehanded??? It's a lot easier to wash or dispose of a nitrile glove. Instead of TP stock up on these...

just just got word that school is closed next week. Caliqueen will go in to work for 4hrs daily, and work the remainder from home.

Is Caliqueen’s reduced workweek seeking to reduce her risk of infection? If so, I am skeptical that shortening hours only slightly would achieve such a goal.

I fully agree. But there’s no arguing with a committee on a rampage.

I ask this question as I really don't know, and if it has already been answered I apologise

On the Test kits that are being used, were these suddenly developed or was this virus anticipated, what does it test for and how quick is it ? Is there false positives or that's not possible

I am just curious , thank you in advance

My wife called from the grocery wanting to know if knew anything we should get. Proceed to get mad when I told her to buy beans.

I just bought an 8 pack of some sort of tp, off brand. I didn’t want to be a hoarder but I’m down to a roll and a half at home. Not a fan of public toilets right now either.

    Seedless grapes checking in.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I work on “Wall Street” (west coast) and am officially working from home for the next two months minimum. Social distancing is in effect, we have people in our regular office, our disaster recovery site several miles away and some lucky folks get to be part of the WFH crowd.

Lunches are going to be so much better with my egg fired up!

This from Robert Reich's website (the original WSJ article is behind a paywall):

Today the Federal Reserve announced it would inject more than $1.5 trillion into Wall Street to mitigate the economic fallout from the coronavirus outbreak. Yes, you heard that right: 1,500,000,000,000 dollars sent to Wall Street in a split second.

I am so sick and tired of the establishment telling us what we can’t afford. If we can find over a trillion dollars for Wall Street in a heartbeat, we can find the money to cancel student debt, provide universal healthcare for all, and enact a Green New Deal. America has socialism for the rich, harsh capitalism for everyone else.

    (emphasis mine)

And this, just ONE DAY after the senate refused to consider a bill for 14 days of paid emergency sick leave:  https://www.huffpost.com/entry/senate-gop-blocks-emergency-paid-sick-leave-legislation-from-moving-forward_n_5e691016c5b68d61645ebff9?fbclid=IwAR2WcgIYQDfJ1rHOyZto8IvurBeoAgYiBo9NyvxDtI5MdBr9-gKj7jgD2d8

Pretty clear who the republicans are working for, huh.
I didn’t read the article and I’m far from an expert but, thinking we need to revisit our economics classes.

The fed pumping money into the economy by selling treasury bills is hardly equivalent to giving Wall Street fat cats a check or remotely equivalent to spending more money for social programs.

The market collapse will have a far greater, and lasting, impact on the middle class than selling $1.5 trillion of t-bills.

We can save the discussion for the college loan crisis for another time. However, I will say if they don’t fix the issue (ie smarter lending criteria) then handing this generation of borrowers relief just kicks the can down the road. The next generation will get what we sow.  My dad always told me when you find yourself in a hole the first this is to stop digging.

And to tag onto your question, how many folks can one "kit" test?  There's a common picture on the news of a box with four vials in it, and VP pence seemed pretty proud that "1,500 kits" were being distributed, a couple days ago....
