Well, two officers have been in close contact with someone that has tested presumptively positive while on a call for service. So this should be fun.

Much faster than Trump could ever do it.

The Democrats have no need to to make Trump seem like an imbecile, he is doing a masterful job of this on his own. this may be the final straw for many.

We have known this virus was NOT contained in China since the first week of the New Year. Yet the president chose to do nothing.

To categorize this pandemic as the typical type influenza that evolves every "cold and flu season" which an appreciable portion of the population is inoculated against, with a .1% mortality rate...... is, at best, a very uninformed statement.

It is likely to do so, since there is no vaccine available and the virus can mutate as it spreads to other highly populated areas with limited resources for medical care.

Since the global notification back in January, and the President doing nothing, the stock market has crashed, we are heading into a recession, the virus continues to spread exponentially across America every single day, and Americans are dying because of it.

Democratic hype of grave danger? If it is, and it shames the president to do something other than, of course, blame the democrats, we all should be thankful.

Wash your hands, do not touch your face, and stay away from people. That is all we have. The travel ban is only about 2 and a half months too late.

So many professions that are at risk now, consider the checkers at the grocery store.  They don’t make enough for the exposure they have, not to mention the cranky customers they’re serving.

I ask this question as I really don't know, and if it has already been answered I apologise

On the Test kits that are being used, were these suddenly developed or was this virus anticipated, what does it test for and how quick is it ? Is there false positives or that's not possible

I am just curious , thank you in advance
And to tag onto your question, how many folks can one "kit" test?  There's a common picture on the news of a box with four vials in it, and VP pence seemed pretty proud that "1,500 kits" were being distributed, a couple days ago....
I don't know how many tests are in a kit, but to answer the first question, tests for this virus were developed a long time ago, and several countries have been testing for months. Not just that, their testing is vastly superior to ours. Take Singapore--they are able to administer a test, quarantine the subject, and get results within three hours. Our tests, on the other hand, take days to yield results. Plus, we're declining to test people in astonishing numbers, many of whom have been exposed to the virus, some of whom even have mild symptoms. It's a disastrous, indefensible response.

If you want to read about our testing failures, this is a good article from the MIT Technology review...

    Likewise @ColbyLang

I’m not blaming one man.  We are slow to react to threats as a nation that are non military.

I hear you. The nonstop political battles are exhausting. But this isn't Stormy Daniels. It's a profound governmental failure with frightening implications. Pointing that out is important; it's how we hold our leaders to account and, hopefully, get them to correct course.

This person has been face to face with this situation in Italy since January 3, 24/7/every freaking day,  sending reports that were as staggering as they were morbid.

This person deemed this as a major threat to the United States of America, in every report offered to the ambassador since day freaking one, and was on several conference calls explaining the issue to the POTUS and his staff.

The embassy in Italy was not alone, other United States embassies were uncovering this virus, globally, and literally screamed as they pleaded for the president to act immediately.

    He did not.

You may say and be satisfied that this would have happened anyway.

However witholding information from the American public, lying again and blaming democrats for this debacle is at the very least absurd.

Anyone that stands with this guy stands against America.

Any other country on the face of this planet besides Russia and North Korea, he would be put in prison for life.

He freaking knew. And he did nothing. Every embassy begged him to take immediate action.

People are now dying. Many American's dream of retirement is gone. Yet the Republuddites keep following this lying cheating sack of fecal matter.

He and his family have made billions. How is your 401K today?
What could he have done? The only thing I see they dropped the ball on is the tests.
Testing is the most important element of response. Without aggressive testing, people with mild cases go to work, ride public transit, cough and sneeze on neighbors, and the thing spreads like wildfire. The countries that have managed to curb the spread have done so in large part because they have implemented widespread testing protocols. Also, testing is not the only thing we've screwed up. Not by a longshot.

Borders should have been shut way back in December when we first learned of this. Like straight locked nobody in or out.

Back then all of Congress was focused on this little sideshow. Priorities you know.
