And since I won't always be taking my trailer rig, had to get this...i blame @nolaegghead for this purchase

Visalia, Ca @lkapigian -
Young neighborhood gang members decided to break into my storage lot about 2am this morning to "mark their territory" with red spray paint on one of my work trucks. Now I get to clean it off.

A clay bar should take care of it. If not hit up an automotive refinishing supplier and ask for enamel reducer. Chili cook off at work tomorrow. Making a riff on the smoked brisket chili popular here using smoked chuckies instead.

A few years back we caught 2 in the basement. 13 and 15. By the time their court dates rolled around the 13 yr old was ruled "mentally incompetent" to be prosecuted and the 15 yr old was already being held by a neighboring county for murder.fishlessman said:

The chuck roast just finished up a 48 hour swim in the SV. Tossed on the egg for a few minutes.

It turned out nice and tender. My wife even complemented the steaks tenderness. "Why can't the egg make it this tender?" Ha! I thought it was good but not great. It had nothing to to with the sous vide or BGE. The rub I used wasn't a good pairing from the start. I'll find something a little better suited the next go around.
I really can see how some of these cheap cuts of beef paired with the SV can become a nice tasty meal."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

here. Chuck roast has gotten really expensive in the South over the last few years. Maybe from pot roasts in the all of the instapots... I quit buying them as I could get a lot better cuts for the same price or nominally more.

Not worth replacing quality cuts for cheaper alternatives for around the same price. I just noticed the local grocer has eye of round roast for $3.99/lb right now. I won't feel too bad playing around for that price.DoubleEgger said:

This is my favorite SV cook. Usually take the dripping from the bad and a splash of red wine and make a gravy just for good measure.WeberWho said:The chuck roast just finished up a 48 hour swim in the SV. Tossed on the egg for a few minutes.

You're 100% right. I should have saved it and turned it into gravy for the potatoes. I even felt guilty about pouring it down the drain.U_tarded said:

What seasoning did you use? Anything off the shelf that we can avoid if and when we do something similar?WeberWho said:The chuck roast just finished up a 48 hour swim in the SV. Tossed on the egg for a few minutes.

I only buy them when Kroger/etc. puts them on sale for a week in the $2.49-$2.99/lb range. They do that at least once a month and that's when I'll scoop up a couple or three.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk
