Been away for a while, what did I miss?
It’s probably been since before Thanksgiving; not sure exactly. A few simple reasons: my wife and I own 3 retail tax offices; this is our 15th year of operations, so there’s always a ton to do leading up to 1/1, and the craziness that ensues. Also my MIL went into the hospital in November and we didn’t think she was going to make it to Christmas. Thankfully she has made somewhat of a recovery and is doing OK but she realizes she won’t be going back to her house. We actually ate out in Florence, SC for Thanksgiving; first time I can ever remember eating out for that holiday. So, basically, we’ve been busy. Nothing more, nothing less. Oh, and I’ve gone down that rabbit hole of building my own AR 15. Spending a lot of time researching, finding deals, etc. Anyone care to give me the readers digest version of what’s been going on?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^. This is crazy!

The biggest thing was @The_Buffalo laid down the law. No politics or other “inappropriate” stuff. Big Buffalo is watching...

Following up on @DoubleEgger 's above post:
Here is the post that provides some insights and guidance passed on from @The_Buffalo:
"This is a placed where you can have fun and joke (within reason) always has been and always will be, but it seems that a few of you have nothing better to do than to turn it political or obscene after a night of drinking (am I wrong?) and that will not be tolerated.
If you have something OT then make sure its labeled OffTopic not the main forum.
If you need to find good buffalo meat to grill on your next cook (yes I can take a joke) or need some advice on a purchase of a truck....I'm cool with that. Want to show us where you went on vacation or show off the grandkids...I'm cool with that too.
What I don't want to see is anything about Trump, Hilary, the government, latest news stories that you seem to think we need to hear your comments on, gifs of chicks jumping around in t-shirts or any talk about a wall....GO FIND A FORUM FOR THAT...it is not here!
Love you guys and I mean it but some of you are taking it too far.
Get it, Got it, Good...not lets have fun together in 2019!!"
And the entire body of work is here:
What causes a thread to get killed?? FWIW-
BTW- frictionless conduit here.

@DoubleEgger was pretty relentless with the Hilary stuff until the buffalo laid it down, he was posting Hilary memes 10-20x per day. It really did change the forum.
Love you bro! -

TBH, I think the new rules have boosted ButtBlast attendance. All that pent-up political discourse and finger pointing should take over once the bourbon slushies break the dam.

And Centex announced he’s getting out of the large volume sausage making game and sold off his equipment.
A bunch of people cooked prime ribs for Christmas.
And we still haven’t resolved whether the Atlanta airport is the best or the worst.

Appreciate the insights, updates, etc. I never really engaged in any of what the buff has called folks out for so, whatever. I’ve seen it as always being a place for entertainment with a bunch of really good cooks and really good dudes (and dudettes). Always appreciate the support folks are eagerly willing to give. Rock on...

One if our forum brothers came out publicly and everyone was super respectful about it, which was encouraging considering this is a forum with a bunch of dudes, but I can’t remember who it was exactly.

I discovered that the forum is not open to having news articles shared that talk about using charcoal to dispose of bodies :)

I don't know where this hostility comes from.
