What you need is a good ol Butt Blast to put it all behind ya!YEMTrey said:The kitchen fridge dying is really costing me. Finally found a replacement fridge and bought it. No problems there. However, upon delivery, my water line to the fridge wouldn’t shut off. Okay, I didn’t want to, but I guess we can shutoff water to the house and replace that valve. Yeah, no. The main shutoff valve to the house is catching and they’re afraid if they shut it off, it won’t open back up.
So, fridge died, major plumbing work. FML!!

Silver lining, you are finding these problems on your own terms/timetable. Good to resolve main shutoff issue when you don't have a major interior leak.YEMTrey said:The kitchen fridge dying is really costing me. Finally found a replacement fridge and bought it. Do you have a water meter down at the street (or somewhere else)?YEMTrey said:The kitchen fridge dying is really costing me. Finally found a replacement fridge and bought it. No problems there. Most water meter installations have a cutoff valve. You can use that to cut off water to your house.

There is a shutoff between the street and sidewalk that is 42 inches under ground (frost line). I called Cincinnati Water Works today to have an order put in for it to be dug up and cleared so it can be shutoff while the plumber works.HeavyG said:

And, @Ozzie_Isaac , thanks for that perspective. I'm completely comfortable and quite happy to have this work done now. Got caught up in the moment (have to much shiit going on right now) to look at the big picture. Thanks.

There isn't a way to crimp the line to the fridge in some way, install an in-line valve and uncrimp? Or even if you couldn't crimp it, a ton of towels, and a big bucket to catch the water as you unscrew the line and attach a new valve?YEMTrey said:

Petty theft is a type of theft crime that is based on the low value of the stolen property. Most states divide theft laws into two categories- grand theft and petty theft. In many states, theft of property worth over $400-$500 is considered to be grand theft.YukonRon said:Our daughter came by this afternoon, raided our fridge, took my leftovers I had planned for dinner tonight.

Here in the great state of Nevada, there is petit larceny and grand larceny, $650 is the threshold. However, burglary may be the more apt charge. The only thing thing you would have to prove is the she came into your home with the intent to commit the offense.DMW said:
