suburban/avalanche for the frame, 6.2 liter @403hp, 6 speed w/overdrive, upgraded suspension, midgate to hold a 4x8 sheet with the tail gate up. then after that way more features than i would ever needOzzie_Isaac said:This is a rough crowd! What is the EXT platform based on? The truck or the tahoe?
In general Caddy's major issues seem to be electric. Lots of gadgets, gizmos, and sensors on them.
the h2 sut is way over my price line now, one of these 5 years newer with 50k plus minus miles is around 25k. its taken me weeks to accept that i could drive one

i just took that pic off the web, ive got a black one and a white one to look at next week, like the black but keeping black clean would be a nightmare for me. looking at carfax reports is good sometimes but not really accurate, looked at an accident free hummer a couple months ago, brush gaurd was slightly bent forward, then saw a paint run near the back, back headliner was stained, rear door didnt open right, the whole side was caved in at one time back to front. what im seeing with the caddys is no rust underneath (garaged and not snow driven) more 1 car owners verse other models ive looked at. ill get more crap from the people i know than from the forumOzzie_Isaac said:Hard to see, but was able to get VIN from the picture. Previous owner was diligent about service including 16.5K service. Only weird thing is he had most oil changes around 6k miles, but one at 2500 miles, then service 100 miles later.

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...

I use carfax as a starting point. You have to be catious in AZ, they will take lemon law cars from Cali and title them in AZ with clean titles. That will show on Carfax.fishlessman said:

Worst car I have ever owned was a 2012 GMC Acadia. Non-stop gremlins. Carfax showed clean, but we had it in the shop a ton sorting all the issues out. I know they didn't start the day I bought it.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

@Ozzie_Isaac - Finding a VIN in that pic is beyond hard to see at least for me. I couldn't figure out how the car in FL ended up in New England but given @fishlessman pulled from the web then it's all coming together. Have a great Friday.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. My main issue with the Avalanche/Escalade is the body. The integrated bed and cab in a truck makes me nervous. When I haul heavy loads or go wheeling I see lots of independant movement between cab and body. Having all that stress going through body panels makes me pause. May be totally unjustified concern, but I trust real trucks more.

im going to put an rtic cooler in the back and maybe 3 gas cans a week and drive a 214 mile round trip every weekend. i have a 1972 chevy c30 ramp truck and a 2015 f550 dump for the heavy stuffOzzie_Isaac said:My main issue with the Avalanche/Escalade is the body. im just shy of 30 years with my 1989 convertible dakota pickup as my daily driver. i view this as a luxury car with a pickup option to carry stuff i dont want in a car, like old leaky gas cans
i only pull the boat maybe once or twice a year and the little dakota with 125 hp did just fine cept the truck is giving up the ghost fast. frames gone, engines just about there, lost the heater and fan beginning of winter, front end needs a major overhaul, sides are rusted out. ive deemed it ..unsafe at anyspeed
my wheeler is in a small trailer, an easy tow

I'm officially in the dog house. Didn't tell SWMBO about this. Guess I will start drinking Bourbon. That'll help ease the pain

Could only sneak in 1 episode so far. You are right, quality is outstanding. The book series by Richard Morgan is one of my favorites and so far the series is hitting the high points and staying true to the books. Looking forward to see how they expand on the world in the serial format.mgd_egg said:
