Went out with new friends tonight (the daughters friends parents). The husband wanted us to come tomorrow for the supe bowl, but the wife wasn't too impressed with my drinking skills. (She doesn't drink, and want thrilled the husband had a beer). Oh well. More beer or me.  =)
If it's any consolation, I think your drinking skills are spectacular.

Probably not, you are an old friend.  He is trying to branch out.

Just got back from Dave Matthews Band concert. Daves voice sounded great being his first concert in awhile. Boyd Tinsley will be missed. Tim, Rashawn, and Jeff will be doing  the heavy lifting in Boyds absence. It just didn't seem right looking down at the stage and seeing Tim Reynolds in Boyds spot tonight. Even if Boyd isn't what he was 5-10 years ago on the violin he's still part of the DMB chemistry. That violin carries certain songs that can't be recipicated. I give Tim, Rashawn, and Jeff a lot of credit tonight though. They did a great job filling a big hole in the band. It was a great show overall I thought. I hope Boyd Tinsley can get whatever he needs figured out for his health and family. They come first.

    @Jeremiah

Have you thought about extending a friendly offer to attend Butt Blast?

It is a more friendly, family fun, atmospher, especially so when trying to impress new friends.

    What could possibly go wrong?

There is a petting zoo, and trails.

Allow me to state the following:

I have never seen you spill anything while drinking. Nor have I ever harbored the thought that you may have a problem, with proper etiquette, when imbibing amongst others in a social setting, specifically in regards to alcohol consumption.

Tough night my friend. I am very proud of the way you represented the BGEs.

Did you order wine for the table?

@YEMTrey - Hope you are well into the cook by now or you will have to get deep into turbo country to get that one home by game time.  Regardless, a banquet awaits for sure.  Enjoy the cook and party.

Agreed.  This was a different brisket.  Started off at 16lbs, but I probably trimmed 5 to 6 pounds of fat off of it.  Plus, this thing is all point.  The flat is pretty thin, but the point is massive.  If it wasn't planned for the party tonight I would have different plans for it.
Put it on around 7am.  Figuring a hour a pound from here should get me to 5.  I'll crank it or wrap it if it's not getting there.
Enjoy your day, and hope you have some LEO in the plans!

@YEMTrey - you are livin right to score mostly point.  Given the small flat, something to be mindful of is that the flat may reach the finish-line before you have had a solid rendering of the fat within the point.  Trust the gut feel and have fun.

  • Cheating on @The_Stache. Crushing some hot chicken after the Fishing and Boat show.

@DoubleEgger @The_Stache The guy in the back stuck a XHot wing in my medium basket yesterday. I pushed through but I think I have made a grave tactical error as of this morning.

@NPHuskerFL That looks great. There’s a lot a prep work in those chicken legs.
