@GrillSgt Hey Sgt, I'm a conservative and occasionally listen to him. And I even listen to Bill Maher.  So, apparently I fit this broad stroke you've painted of Rush listeners?  I was simply stating that a lot of people are suffering because of the storm so why politicize it? I don't give a rat's ass if Rush did or not. But if it makes you feel better by focusing on that have at it Capt DipShit!
His network @Legume to say people that listen to Rush aren't capable of making a rational, intelligent, logical decision?  Gotcha :plus_one:

Well you can certainly tell by reading some of these posts who is stressed and actually affected by the storm.

@NPHuskerFL nope.  His network meaning his show that he syndicated.  He can't get fired like Brian Williams.

or maybe his network meaning people that listen to him can't read so good, not sure.

It's one hell of a storm.  Even in N. GA we're feeling her wrath.  Tied the boat down tight and padder her up.  Tied the dock down and removed everything off of it.  Then, back into the ATL to secure the house and dial in the new generator.  Probably overkill but always be prepared.  Quit the scouts as a tenderfoot.  Not my best decision.  Everyone stay safe.

I know this is no joking matter and it is a serious storm, but I had to say that this made me laugh really hard @kl8ton. I do not know how they got that picture of me out there

    Hope everyone is staying safe!!

  • With forecasts of wind from 35-50 and gusts 60-mph and a chance of "naders"..we decided to put all the outside furniture up and brought the egg inside! Not really wanting to chance it and find out if the egg can handle 60 mph gusts. Oh and we had surf and turf for dinner! Sorry for the poor presentation, we were starving! The wife just wanted plain Jane salt and pepper on hers and I went with mickeys coffee rub cooked to medium and pulled the lobster at 135 IT. Stay safe everyone!!

Moving more NE now which is bad for us here. Something just exploded outside. Sounds like a bad Wizard of Oz flick outside. It's really bearing down.

Survived phase I.  Took some strong winds coming from the NE straight to the front of the house.  Just now, the backnaide started getting it.   I know Irma is headed to north to see many of you. I hope she leaves quickly, doesn't cause any more damage down here, and is a sweet house guest to all of you still yet to meet her.  Be safe!

Our son stayed at our house (lesser of two evils) and with reports like these " A veritable swarm of mesocyclones developed near the Space Coast of east central Florida on Sunday afternoon—more than 100 in all, estimated John Monteverdi (San Francisco State University). Forecasters at the NOAA/NWS Storm Prediction Center (SPC) had predicted an enhanced risk of tornadoes in east-central Florida as far back as Saturday. " and an apparently non functioning land line and known power outage we are concerned. Cell contact is possible but have not heard anything since yesterday afternoon. Trying not to think of all the bad possibilities from Fort Valley, Georgia. Will report back whatever the outcome. Thanks for looking and caring.

All is well here in Coral Springs, FL (SE Florida - 15 miles west of Fort Lauderdale). We were VERY lucky and never lost power. Going outside later to assess any damage, but didn't hear anything that concerned me. :joy:

Now I have 100 gallons of ethanol free gas in my garage. Guess I won't be hitting the pumps any time soon.

Good luck Jason,  there will be some trees down and power outages for sure.
It's a great time to be next in the queue. Something tells me the sliding price scale may be in play though.
