Apparently if you're a reporter in a hurricane area, you need to stand out in the storm, not under shelter, but out in the middle of it. Does this discourage or encourage people to try the same? I've been flipping around this morning and seen at least a dozen reporters with goggles standing where they shouldn't.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Well Mexico is dealing with the aftermath of an 8.1 earthquake on the south border with Guatemala on the Pacific side and a hurricane impact a little further north on the Atlantic side. Most of the rest of the news is off topic to this thread.

Yeah. I've understood that this is a big storm for several days. But seeing a video of large waves on Jacksonville Beach from a storm that is near Key West and heading up the west coast of the state really put it in perspective for me.

The whole state of GA is now a state of emergency and my kids are out of school the next two days. Better safe than sorry, I guess.
Expecting a a few inches of rain and 35-50 mph winds here in extreme NWGA.
My only real fear, personally, I'd the dead tree I haven't gotten cut down yet. Hope it stands...
Certainly, feel for those who have/are going to take the brunt of this thing. Not something we have to deal with very often. -

@bgebrent been trying to get the live tree guy that I use out here for months. Apparently the tree business is really good. That bad boy is between me and the neighbor and could land on a second neighbor's fence. Fingers crossed.
