    I like most of the well done mob stuff. It just keeps my attention. Loved the Sopranos too along with Goodfellas and some others. Similar to Breaking Bad IMO.

    I even like the documentary shows done. Americas worst criminals or something like that. Gives a perspective from the perps and the law enforcement side. It's  incredible how weird some guys normal life can be.

    The tv show Boardwalk was pretty good too. Anyone that has Amazon Prime can watch it for free.

    I love the food prep detail in these movies, using a razor to slice garlic so thin, when added to the skillet it dissolves in the olive oil.
    I like to cook and watch those shows.

    It is nice to see the family meals and all the time committed to the gatherings. that is one redeeming quality these folks bring to all of us. Something we as parents and friends can all appreciate I'm sure.

    When I saw the title; "Who else loves them?" I would have bet good money that this was a post about anus and sphincter. I missed that one by miles. 
    But yes, I do love The Godfather.

    The Godfather 1 & 2 are the gold standard of mobster movies.  They defined the genre.  Subsequent mobster movies like Goodfellas may be great in their own right, but they are always compared to The Godfather movies.

    For me it is the thought pathology of the characters that interests me a bit. Much like breaking bad imo. Mad men as well. Not a mob movie but really interesting for similar reasons.  There are many great movies or shows which don't interest me in the least. But, they are well made films irrespective of the subject matter.

    It's impossible for me not to dvr these even after watching them enough to virtually have the dialog memorized. Throw in some Scarface and GoodFellas and let the binge begin. Sounds like an easy way to not even notice a brisket stall. :wink:

    Are you saying they're not mobster movies?  If they are, wouldn't they be considered the gold standard of that genre?  Just because they are on the AFI Top 100 list does not mean they cease being mobster movies.  By the same token, Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back are probably on the same list.  Does that mean they aren't still sci-fi movies as well?

    Jesus Fred, relax man.  I'm not busting your chops.  I'm just saying you don't need to qualify them as "mobster movies" to say that they're great.  I think they're as great as *any other* movie made.  That's all.  Capisce?
