Biden’s pardon count hit up to about 4000 counting all of the jail pardons and commutations.
Who would be the closest to Enrique Tarrio, in terms of crimes or overall white nationalism, in Biden's list?
Just ballpark, but I'm pretty sure Joe has more murderers.

The DudeThis is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.

Walter SobchakNihilists! *uck me. I mean, say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

Healthcare is something I totally take for granted in UK. The NHS (free healthcare system) has been run into the ground by the former Conservatives gov, who wanted to break it, so only solution would be to move to a US-style healthcare system, so they can get kickbacks from the companies who take it over.

Medicine prices being capped is so essential and a human right IMO. I had a blood clot earlier this year and have been put on blood thinners. Costs me £8 for 2 month supply. Just looked up and the exact same drug in US costs $1,200 for 2 months! That amount would afford me a supply that would last me £10+ years in UK

Always helpful to hear from the guy who was convinced heart disease is contagious, and that you could catch it at the McDonald's drive through.

When you say it out loud like that it kind of makes sense.
I'm sure it would "make sense" to a lot of our fellow citizens.  Perhaps, a majority even.
such a funny and great exchange.

industrial food is so ubiquitous that it’s as easy to catch as a common cold. so we’re all fat and healthcare dependent. healthcare is largely dependent on full time employment. employment is largely right-to-work so you gotta do whatever it takes to keep it.  but income disparity is as big as ever so all we have time to buy is industrial food.

there’s a hole in the bucket dear liza

    1776 my rear!!! lol
As self employed this hits close to home.  Our food is garbage, our healthcare ($15k/ year + $15k deductible before it covers anything + $16k/year in medicine not covered by insurance) healthcare was the biggest hurdle to leaving W2 work.  I believe our poor overall health and probably a significant portion of mental health issues is caused by our diet.  Viscious circle.  I don’t think any big cabal planned this, but people have definitely figure out how to profit from it and have no incentive to change.
Sure would be nice if an administration would focus on healthy eating.  Maybe start with kids?  Heck it seems like something a First Lady could maybe push for, since they’re less politically polarizing.
As a Canadian, comment on US diets ... which frankly, isn't that different to Canadian diets ... but in any case ... I feel like that cousin that is on the sidelines of a big family argument, and I probably should stay out of it ... LOL.

But, here is my 2 cents (canadian ... worth about 1 cent US) ... it is INCREDIBLE that I can travel to Asia, Africa, and even most places in Europe and eat like an absolute pig, and not gain a single pound.  If I ate that same way in Canada or the USA ... I'd have gained 10 lbs easy.  And I'm not talking because I would have just eaten McDonalds. This would happen at high end restaurants here ... What's in our food here?

There may be more to it than that. I too don’t tend to gain much weight travelling to various overseas destinations. But usually, I’m combatting the calorie intake with a lot of walking. The difference I’ve found in the US is that a lot of cities really aren’t that walkable.

Current rates ive seen put Canada at 30% obesity and 40% for the US - both horrible!!
I was going to mention the walking .. but honestly, I don't think that is making up for what I eat! LOL. I also walk a lot when I travel to Clearwater, or Nashville and certainly Vegas ... and I gain weight by smelling things. LOL.

Drug cost in the US is criminal. My dad lives in constant pain because the meds he needs cost $8k/month.

I'm in the same boat.  Still on Blue Cross Federal (insurance company for Civil Servants) and the Xarelto manufacturer does let me have 3 mos. worth for $20, but when I switch to TriCare (Fed-subsidised insurance for us military retirees) the Feds will get charged $1,200 for three months.  The manufacturer makes a profit either way (or they wouldn't offer it) but the padding against the fed government drives me crazy, effin' thieves!!

I feel like supporters and voters are two different things.  There are a lot of people that just did not want Biden or Kamala. So you vote for the other. I also feel like the left is more vocal.

if there was a real “cut the noise / bs” fiscal conservative, no free ride efficient government, grow the middle class and pull the low income out of chaos, there really would have been a landslide victory. from either party.  but money and sound bite media wont let that happen right now.

lots of polls from the people that politicians ignore. need one issue one bill one vote.

Why has NO ONE in the press asked orange guy why, since the Jan 6 rioters were all Antifa, FBI, and Leftist Insurgents (HIS words), he just granted them all a blanket pardon?

I vote my line but really doesn’t matter to me who’s in charge, if my focus was on anger vs “ how do I work with this “ I’d get nowhere…it is what it is and there are other things for me to focus on…try and do the right thing and make a difference, all you can control is you
I vote based on what policies are likely to be passed, not the people running.  I tend to think about how those policies will actually impact other people’s lives, especially the most vulnerable among us.  And then vote accordingly.

Nah, the Trump supporters just don’t say anything because they know they’ll lose the arguments on the merits.

Kudos to that Pastor.  Not too many people speaking truth to power these days.
Gotta love how DJT is about to nod off, and then goes "wut??"

Then,  Vance incredulously looks over to Usha, and she's got that "STFU, and look straight. Act like an adult" attitude.

Funny how that double standard often comes in to play Frank. Y’all can bash Trump 24/7 but when the shoe is on the other foot it’s off limits. I personally don’t care, I just think it’s horseshit

the true statement would be to point out that the online meetup has always said “no third rail topics / no politics” since it started.

that is probably to make sure everyone feels welcome should they join and safe from a heated argument arising.

i am sure you can imagine there’s a likelihood of someone popping off at the mouth without first understanding the facts. which is what you just did. no offense intended and no profanity used, you are a valuable member of this online community

Sure. Anyone can blast DJT openly. On any topic. During the prior administration, any mention of Kamala or Biden was slapped down. By multiple people.

Like I said, doesn’t matter to me. Rules should apply to all.
  • ok i totally agree that when people post pro maga here it gets heavy response with a dismissive edge. maybe compounded by the fact that historical republican and independent voters here are not fans of 45/47.  it can get uncivil for sure.

what i thought was going on was putting cap on blast for keeping politics out of the zoom meetups.  that has always been the situation so i responded.
