Looking forward to restarting the weekly futbol diatribe from @CPFC1905.  I haven't had a lot of time to actually watch the games over the past year or so, so I think I'm looking forward to tomorrow's weekend preview even more than the games themselves at this point.

Be honest, you thought I had forgotten / hoped I had given up.  But no, we’re back back back.

Brief resume.  Palace won the FA Cup against Man City in May,  Palace won the Community Shield against Liverpool two weeks ago and then drew (goal disallowed so should have won) against Chelsea last week, who are the best team in the World according to a chap who splits his time between Pennsylvania Avenue and Mar-e-Largo.    Elsewhere some stuff has happened and £2.7bn has been spent on player transfers, apparently.

    Tonight

West Ham v Chelsea, quick trip across town on the District Line for the Chels’  Not looking especially solid for the Hammers, the Blues will kick on. 0-2

    Saturday

Man City v Spurs,  new season but will either of these be able to forget last year’s hapless misfires? Both won last week, but certainly for Spursy Spurs that means nothing.  0-0 feels impossible so I’ll  rule that out, otherwise all bets are on. 2-1.

Bournemouth v Wolves,  many suggesting the Old Gold will struggle this year so a 1-0 home win to be lost in the mists of time.

Brentford v Villa, feels a big season for Villa after two strong showings under their belt. Can they break in to the big 4, or 5, or 6?  The Bees failed last week but are always good at home. 1-1

Burnley v Sunderland, you’d think relegation six pointer but the Mackems (Sunderland) smashed three past West Ham last week. This will be tight.  1-1

Arsenal v Leeds,  the Gunners have taken our beloved Eze and I just hope they treat him nicely.  £68m has softened the blow.  Dirty Leeds squeaked a lat 1-0 last time out, different gravy this. 3-0

    Sunday

Palace v Forest, OK - lots to unpack here.  We got bumped down a Euro competition for weird reasons (mainly Brexit) and because the owner of Forest moaned about us - he whose own clubs have been repeatedly fined for financial naughtiness.  Enough of that.  We played in Europe last night (and won) and that normally means only one thing, a defeat in the following match - that’s what all the data says.  1-2

Everton v Brighton, unimpeded by Europe or in fact anything to celebrate the filthy fetid Seagulls will undoubtedly sail to the PL title on a wave of media bias and self-infatuation.  The Toffees have a new home, which can be tricky but they will be more than keen to get off to a flyer. 1-1

Fulham v Man Utd, it just can’t be worse for Utd this time, can it?  The Cottagers will be no push over and  this could go either way, may be that Utd spring to life with their new signings and full pre-season under Amorim?  But 1-1

    Monday

Newcastle v Liverpool, game of the week I reckon. Strong test for both sides with an undercurrent linked to a protracted player transfer saga.  The Reds should just about have enough, but only just. 0-1

There you go, great to be back right?

Other girls may try to take me away

My heart is warmed.  Thank you.

Although I have to say that your prediction re: Man U seems way off base.  I saw them play in Chicago a few weeks ago for goodness sake - and we all know how important those preseason games on our side of the pond are.  They mean everything!  =)

I think the Red Devils will do enough to win and give their army hope with 2 nicely scored goals while simultaneously playing enough sloppy defense and giving up a goal to let doubters/realists like you see the truth about how fragile they are: Fulham 1, Man U 2

Made two sets of divining/dowsing rods today. One set for me and one for a neighbor. Found my well, underground electric for the garage, underground internet cable, electric and underground propane for the neighbor next door. Have not found water yet, it's thirty inches deep.....I guess I don't have the touch

I've sold a lot of these to city water departments. The neighbor does point style wells so will see what he gets. Currently he uses a wood stick he picks off the ground.  Works for me to find wire and pipes, most is underground here in my yard

I'm pretty sure I purchased my Brother color laser printer when I upgraded my iMac, in 2015.  It finally beeped at me to refill the toner after ten years!  Wrote down the model number, headed to Office-R-Us, and couldn't find a 4-cartridge set to replace all of them, and each color (black, cyan, periwinkle and taupe?) was around $100 apiece (!!  :o)
I bought just a black cartridge, as I mostly print only in black.  Replaced it this morning, then removed the three color cartridges and shook them side-to-side, then slid the little green button like they do on ewetube videos (the written instructions with the cartridge were crap).  Powered back up, rebooted the router (my printer constantly falls off Wifi, and doesn't have an Ethernet socket), and she printed fine; hope that lasts me another ten years or so.
I did some further digging on the 'net afterwards and, first, found some reasonably-priced, four-cartridge sets for around $27, but they weren't OEM (there are also kits to refill your existing cartridges, I know better than to go that route).  I also learned that, for my printer, there are two different "sizes" of cartridge; they're both identical in dimension but one is a "home" cartridge, and the other "office", the only difference is the amount of toner in each.  My local "Office-R-Us" only had the "office" size (that I could find) so I guess I'm okay paying $100 for that single cart.

Did you shop printers? Seems like nowadays you can get a printer with  cartridges for just a little bit more than the cartridges themselves. Our office printer is an HP and all four cartridges are about a grand all together. I buy OEM and the extra capacity. I won't buy off brand. My first career in IT soured me on those. Maybe they've come a long way .....I don't know.  Now I think I need to go printer shopping.

I did not.  I remember reading somewhere, 10 years ago, that new inkjet printers were sold with inkwells that were nearly empty, so that you had to buy new ink (the profit center, ie cheap razors, soak 'em with the blades principle).  I didn't read that about laser printers, ten years ago.  And the fact that I got ten years of black printing out of my original purchase, seems to confirm that.  I was kinda shocked at the $100 price tag for the new, single color toner, but if it lasts me another ten years I'll have no complaints.

Trying to make an 8 year old’s day. She’s obsessed with a LaBuBu doll. Lots of kids at school have them. These things are harder to find than pichana at the moment. Bout to buy a knockoff on Temu lol.
