Still reflecting on an audience well received Memorial Day speech I was honored to give yesterday evening.  I have delivered several speeches to Memorial Day, Veterans Day, 9-11 and POW day events over many years.
This closure hit home.  Around 150 in attendance.
Never have had such a response.  Nailed it.  I am beyond good with never again achieving that.
    Shameless bragging right there.
Congrats, Cap. I am more than convinced you deserve every acclaim that comes your way, and much more. Any chance there is a recording available?

Seconded.  Would love to hear it if it was recorded, but would love to read your words if not.

@lousubcap - Congratulation and the respect and admiration shown by your audience.  As others have noted, you certainly are due much more.  And add me to the list wishing for a transcript.

Thank you for all the fine words.  Fortunately there is no recording  =).  Regarding the transcript, I have given it a lot of thought and decided against sending it along as the audience and delivery were the key pieces in the event.

First lawyer steals the gold, second lawyer picks the bones clean and licks the plate....All the things they tell you seem to change as the date gets close.
I didn't realize you'd been married (and divorced) there, fish.

dad, brother and sister, cousins, does anyone not get a divorce nowadays, plus a bunch of business dealings. it seems to be a rule that with large chunks of money you change lawyers atleast twice during the fiasco.

Changing partner, might as well change lawyers too.

Not exactly the start to vacation that I was expecting. Had the main sewer line from half the house break off. Raw sewage in the crawl space. Remediation started, plumbers scheduled and insurance adjuster called.

    F me.

Won trivia night at a wine bar.  Got a $60 gift card, didn’t even know we were playing for actual prize.

As Cap says, better to be lucky than good.

Our best guess is that a couple of the support straps broke mid-span and caused a sag in the 50ft run. This caused an accumulation of waste build up in the run and all that weight caused the other straps to fail, leading to the collapse.

There was a day last week when the wife texted me saying she thought a tree fell in the house because the whole house shook violently but we couldn’t find anything. I never once thought to check the crawl space.

I did. I wanted to prevent moisture transfer from the concrete so the skid mount are what’s bolted to the floor. Servpro asked if I could move it for easier access. I suggested they cover it with plastic once they start excavation. Lol

Mini vacation over. My last week of having to call in to see if I have to report for jury duty.  I have to be there tomorrow morning. I will leave my wife at the resort and hope to get out of jury duty and be back to her by lunch.  Worst case scenario, she can Uber home so we can attend an event we have in the evening.

we have ours in our master closet sitting on top of LVP...

If we every sell our house, the new buyers are going to want a price correction due to " the floor on the master closet"

Dinner party with friends - Shrimp enchiladas, peanut&chili salsa, white rice (Serrano, garlic, onion, broth was a tea made from the roasted pepper skins), and a lime dressing.  Only photos I got were Mezcal to start and roasted peppers for the enchiladas 🤣 Need to remember photos.
