You are pursuing the dream right there.  Congratulations on a well executed prep work plan, clearly aided by the enjoyment brought by your boat on the lake. The marina lifestyle also is a powerful draw as you well know.
As Leroy "Satchel" Paige said, "don't look back, somethin' might be gainin" on ya!"  I envy you and your adventure ahead.
What a great vision and transition.
This scene from the movie Office Space sums up my feelings perfectly.

As I have been dreaming of "looping" i have followed InTooDeep on youtube.  Gus has had a couple yachts. Shows the work, navigation, repairs, etc.  Long videos but pretty cool.  The latest videos feature an old 70' yacht he fixed up and brought from Maine down to Bahamas and beyond.

Had my first scuba certification class session (finished all the online classes), one more class then 2 days of pool time, then Open Water cert in Mexico :)

my first dive was in the bahamas. they dont pay much attention to safety down there. was supposed to be a 30 foot dive, they anchored over 80, was supposed to be a coral dive, well no they took me on a shark dive......first lesson i learned, pay attention to the drift of the boat off the mooring. when you get to the bottom swim into the current that you noticed on the surface. i must of swam a half hour on the surface to get back to the boat, they dont come get you and you dont want to swim into the current on the surface in full gear. somehow they leave that out of the classes, boat instructions etc ;)

Haha!  Skydiving has always been a bucket item list, but since the divorce I no longer have a death wish.

Had a brother in law who rode bulls, I debated when I was much younger and healed faster.  He got his bollocks stomped on and they turned into grapefruits.  Decided it wasn’t for me.

Have a good friend who is a Muay Thai trainer, his son is a pro and incredibly good - watching him shows how absolutely outclassed I would be.  I was a regional champ in wrestling back in the day and even in my prime wouldn’t wish that damage on myself!!!

My spot for the day.  I'm on a golf cart at the entrance to our business. I am a greeter for our special community event going on today.  When a car pulls in the driveway about 100 ft from me I stand up to approach oncoming car.  I also put my hand up in the air half waving and half asking them to stop. I've had five people blow through this setup. I do not understand.

First year doing a full blown 5 gallon bucket garden. So far I am impressed. Picking squash already, green beans in a week or two. Tomatoes are flourishing.

Love that!! Did do a double take on last photo - thought it was an alligator at the bottom!

I’ll have to check it out. I’ve wanted to do the loop for about 20 years. I was never able to give it any real thought as it was going to be a “later in life” excursion. “Later in life” has gotten a lot sooner so I have started to look more into making the dream into reality.
The Downeast Loop is on the list now as well as wintering in the Bahamas.

I say that ten million snowbirds can’t all be wrong. They have figured out retirement. We’ll just do it on a boat.

I'm going to try to do the loop with some of my kids. Hopefully in the next 3 years. We will see.

About 8 years ago when I first got on the road, I was working a graveyard shift and was the first arriving on a hit and run auto vs pedestrian wreck. Got the road blocked off. Eventually someone came up and when I informed them they had to turn around. After a few minutes of listening to them b!tch I told them to look real close down the road. The first little bump was someone’s leg, the bigger bump about 15 yards further down the road was a crumpled body. After about 15 seconds of the blank stare down the road I had to hear about how unprofessional it was of me to point out someone’s death.

Going to make a cup of coffee and turn on the PVR to watch Panthers vs. Oilers. Is NBA Finals Game 1 on tonight too? Good to see former Raptors Siakam doing well.

I once had to stop an accident victim’s mother from driving full speed into the accident scene . It was too late for any last words, 2 football players drove straight into the back end of a school bus. She did go up on foot.
I could go on a length about people blowing past multiple lane closed signs, it’s one of the reasons road construction is so hazardous. Then when they wreck it means years of depositions. Enough for now.

Found out this afternoon that my Dad bungled his home Covid test. I drove 90 miles one way yesterday to drive him to the doctor for a “cold”. Today Mom just blew up a Covid test. That means I am thoroughly exposed as are both of my sisters. Just waiting now.
