Are you watching cartoons with your pup?
LOL. We were watching football. Must have been a commercial.
Does he think the Colts will beat the spread today?

For years I dreaded the 4th and new years because of the fireworks and my doggo’s. I don’t have to worry about it now out in the sticks.

Many years ago, the first summer I had with my Corgis, when the local fireworks started I leashed them up, took them into the driveway, lowered the truck's tailgate, and sat them up there with me in between, and we watched my neighbor across the street shoot off fireworks.  The Boys were fascinated, and I'd interject with "Ooh! Ahh!  Isn't that cool?!" to them, and they seemed to enjoy it.  Fireworks never bothered them for the next few years.
But, as they got older, they seemed to be bothered more and more, and the last couple years we just retired to the finished basement until 0100 or so.

I got the idea from listening in to a few conversations about hunting dogs when I was stationed up in Grand Forks (up there you're weird if you don't hunt/have dogs).  Sounded like there was a way to raise a pup to not be scared of bangs, but also just a few were predisposed to never be comfortable around bangs, "gun-shy".

That’s what I did with my pup, we ran around shooting guns and acting a fool, he’s never had a problem with booms. In his old age though thunder does seem to make him a bit uneasy.
