@johnmitchell she is always snooting around under the eggs, occasionally trying to even eat small bits of charcoal 🤢. And yes, @Gulfcoastguy she would at least have it pulled off into the woods and mostly consumed by the time I extracted her.

Got my doodle his summer shave today. A new groomer I would have left a bit more on the top of his head but not bad overall.

As always Lewis is super hopeful she will get a snack from the BGE. Tonight it might be a sticky guava chicken thigh…. -
The daycare opened their pool today. He must have spent a lot of time in it.

Not mine, but they were at a shop today I stopped in. 5 month old pups.

I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Made an appointment for my Sheepadoodle tomorrow a.m. The yearly shots and exam. Dr Vetstein will bug me to whack his nads off again. I still don’t see the need for it even at 2 1/3 years old.

Stuffed this woodpecker yesterday for the museum collection. It was killed by a cat. PSA if you have cats keep them inside and away from wildlife. OMG the stitching I needed to do to keep its wings and head on… glad it will make it to the museum not the trash with the damage.

I initially took “stuffed “ the wrong way.

Killed on 4/24 at three in the afternoon, so in Texas I would guess 87° indirect for 30min before it was tossed in the freezer. Also no rot smell so props for a quick freeze.Time and temp? -

We saw a cardinal laying in the road about 30 years ago. I told my wife how awesome it would be to get it stuffed and mount it on a tree. She got out and got it and said it wasn't hurt, I said the sob is dead, to which we both laughed.BeanHead said:

We took it home, wrapped it and put it and put it the freezer. Everytime someone would come over, we would come over we would tell them that story and would laugh about us having a dead bird in our freezer, until about 5 or 6 years later someone told us that a taxidermist wouldn't touch because it was the 'State Bird' and he and we would both get in trouble.

when we cleaned the windows, this year, we didn't do the insides of the main level but still got some bird strikes on the clean glass. One when we were standing right by the big kitchen window. looked out on the lawn and saw a starling all bent up lying there. looked later and he was gone. "Not dead yet" sort of thing.
When we cleaned the insides a week later we saw a big smudge on the outside shaped just like that bent up starling i spotted on the lawn. That was a hell of a hit.~~

thats weird, i saw my first box turtle yesterday crossing the road. an elderly couple stopped and was helping it get to the other side. just dont see those up here, never saw one beforefukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
There’s definitely a turtle saving season here in Indiana. Fun fact, always place a box turtle on the other side of the road in the direction it was headed. They only roam about 1sq mile. Also, don’t relocate them. It screws up their Wazefishlessman said:DoubleEgger said:

I think that they are usually looking for a lady turtle. Or maybe they are leaving one?
