Lost our sweet girl a few weeks ago. She was almost 17 years old. She'd been having some issues we'd been fighting the last year and a half or so and they finally got the best of her. Kidneys started shutting down and one thing led to another. She spent 3 days in the emergency vet trying to get her back on track, but it was just too much.
Brought her home on a Wed afternoon and loved on her overnight and into the morning on Thur. Had someone come into the home mid morning and let her go in my wife's lap where she always wanted to be. Sucks big time. Got her a nice memorial done and put her to rest next to our other cat in the corner of the yard with a rhododendron to mark her place. She's the last of the three we've had of late. Too many times I've walked into rooms and something catches my eye thinking it's her. Definitely miss her a ton. She was such a sweet little girl.

It happens more than you would think. I've yet to catch my pup in the act, but I swear everytime I lock her in the garage more beer and whiskey disappears and sometimes the tv is on.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

The tail is the culprit at my house

My dog learned how to loosen a beer bottle cap enough to let the contents dribble out on the floor. Then lap lap lap.

His elder, and much larger accomplice, is the **** stirrer. Will pull things off of tables and countertops and lil ole Oscar is there to shred, tear up, or run off with.JohnInCarolina said:

Used to have a cat that would counter surf, knocking stuff off for his accomplice the dog to chew up. I think the cat knew what he was doing.Midland, TX XLBGE

We don’t have much longer with this old girl but she is still eating and interested in short walks and she loves lounging in the sun. Hard to believe 13 years ago our little Mishka was just a tiny babe.

I just heard from my veterinarian. According to the blood test my 11.25 year old Boxer has 2 major problems. The first is myocarditis, a common condition and cause of death in Boxers. The second one is stage 3 kidney disease. Regarding the first one she wants him to wear a heart monitor and depending on the results see a pet cardiologist. Nowhere did she mention any type of cure for this. The second issue means buying prescription kidney disease dog food. My previous Boxer had to go on this diet . She hated it and was just miserable her last several months. Again this would just slow down progression. To keep it on point a picture of our first week.

Sorry about your pup - never an easy decision. Are we prolonging their life for our benefit or theirs? So many conflicting and competing things cloud these decisions. Good luck with whatever you choose and only you and your pup know what’s best.Gulfcoastguy said:I just heard from my veterinarian.
