Hope you all have a chance to celebrate the day, my friends.  I’ll be sharing an SRF black brisket smoked on a BGE by a good friend, for dinner tonight with my family, at Lake Norman.  Kind of the ultimate gift.  Looking forward to that, a day of fun and good food, and of course some fireworks.

Happy 4th to you all. Smoking some spares today, St Louis cut, just one rack for the two of us. We started the fireworks earlier today upstairs (wink wink). Nobody's head blew off, heck nobody's socks blew off either. Maybe I don't have the M-80 I thought I had. It's all written in small Chinese letters so it's hard to read. On the odd days that the letters look bigger, the last thing I want to do is read in bed, so I just use it as it. For all I know, it could say "I peed in the wonton soup".

Thanks for mostly putting up with my nonsense, too ...

I'll be making 80/20 smash burgers with super-secret sauce: 

(1 cup Dukes mayo, 1 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup mustard, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce and 1 tablespoon Sriracha) - Don't tell anyone. 

2 slices of American cheese, bleu cheese for Boss Lady

Lettuce, tomato and onion on a toasted sesame seed bun.

Boss Lady will be making baked beans with bacon and onions. She's also making French fries.

Good red wine, no M-80s.

That is pretty close to the sauce we make for dipping fried seafood in 👍

I pulled right out in front of a state trooper… went a 100 yards and dove into a gas station lol. He took mercy on me, my buddy said the trooper took a long look at me and just went on.   We’re only going a few miles.
