Is that the same knife Mr. Ronco used to also cut thru a box of frozen spinach on tv?

that may have been the ginsu. ronco had the 19 piece set for 19 bucks plus a second set free with extra shipping and handling
ended up given two sets. kept the tomato knives and used the disposable knives on camping trips. have the original ginsu as well, that ones useless except if you want to cut thru a can

the Ginsu Hanaita Series Damascus 33 Layer VG-1 Core chef knife is pretty nice, i have that one at camp. the original looks to be more like a tree saw

It's less than ten dollars in ebay. Hard bread/tomato. It's a stupid cheap knife that actually works. It's not for show. It just has a purposelousubcap said:fishlessman said:the best tomato knife ever made, the ronco fivestar showtime. never needs sharpening

You go in the back of a lot of kitchens and look at what they really use to prep, and you will find these everywhere. It isn’t dainty, it doesn’t leave beautiful smooth slices, but it will get it done in a hurry. No sharpening, no wasted time. My crew used them for everything. Portioning meat, filleting fish, prep, etc. Not pretty, but super fast and no busted knuckles.Columbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum. -
Believe I've read that the split tip works well for flipping a slice of bread, or tomato, from the cutting board to a plate, pot or pan. I could be wrong, but haven't been yet.Ozzie_Isaac said:

I've been very pleased with this one. Though it was about half the price when I purchased it.

A honing rod isn’t something you need to over think. I like the ceramic ones.
