Heh, Beau dug up something interesting today.
An article had been written, to be published today by Russia, after the Ukrainian government had been replaced.  It DID get published today, but the war ain't over yet (it was immediately retracted, but not quickly enough).  Article explains the real reason russia invaded, not the propaganda that moscow spread these past years.   Fascinating read.

Don't joke about Ireland. Our aristos are still pissed off that the Irish threw them out. The brexit intent was to force the EU to protect it's external border by splitting off Ireland to avoid a land border being re-established. Fortunately, the US involvement in the peace process and bi-partisan refusal to allow the UK to crap on Ireland stopped that from happening. Brexity types dream of Ireland being under England's control in the same way that Scotland and Wales are.

It was an informative and insightful talk.  Great perspective right there.  Went well into the background and his observations and assessments on the current situation.  US politics were only minimally injected during the talk which just concluded at the 90 minute mark.  Even rolled into his views on China and Taiwan at the close.  Definitely worth my time.  BTW- he discounted the Julius Caesar solution. 
@JohnInCarolina should you get an opportunity to offer comments, please suggest the moderator repeat the question for the on-line audience.

Being held on $250,000 bond and if he posts it a hearing will be held to get an accounting of how he got the money.

Yes. He is charged with Burglary w/ a Deadly Weapon, Robbery w/ a Deadly Weapon and Attempted Robbery w/ a Deadly Weapon. So far.

All those charges sound the same to me.  Did this have anything to do with the guy being on the force, like he cased out the place as a trusted person, or just a bad apple that happened to be a cop. ?

Without getting too far into the weeds, burglary is entering a structure with the intent to commit a larceny, assault/battery or any other felony. Robbery is stealing something with force or fear of force. The deadly weapon part of those are enhancements. 

As far being a trusted person, I don’t know. We have the opportunity to work OT at the majority of the casino properties, but those are mostly nightclubs/events. I couldn’t speculate on any of that, I’m sure it is being investigated. I would say it is a bad actor situation. The department has suspended him without pay and the union has rightfully distanced themselves from him.

Beau of the Fifth Column is one EweTuber I follow (as do a couple of you). He's not infallible (he made a HUGE mistake regarding the filibuster about two months ago) but for the most part he's spot-on, and apparently still has contacts within his field past his prison sentence (he's a convicted felon).  
Here he talks about a unique war tactic, but I haven't heard about it myself (and too close to bedtime to research now).
