    A few paragraphs regarding Russia-Ukraine:

The possibility of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was discussed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Ukrainian counterpart at face to face talks in Turkey earlier today. Zachary Basu reports for Axios

Foreign Minister Sergey V. Lavrov of Russia has left open the door to a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Volodymyr Zelensky. “I hope that this will become necessary at some point,” he said. “But preparatory work needs to take place for this.” Zelensky has said that the war can only be ended through a meeting with Putin, which the Kremlin has not yet agreed to. Anton Troianovski reports for the New York Times.

RUSSIA, UKRAINE – NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

Ukrainian government officials said yesterday that damage by the Russian forces had left the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disconnected from outside electricity, leaving the site of the worst nuclear accident in history dependent on power from diesel generators and backup supplies. The International Atomic Energy Agency said that the loss of power violated a “key safety pillar,” but it saw “no critical impact on safety” at this time. David E.Sanger and Henry Fountain report for the New York Times.

Ukraine’s national electricity grid operator, Ukrenergo, has said that it has a team ready to restore power at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and is waiting for a safe corridor to be created. Annabelle Chapman reports for the Washington Post.

Doesn't this just give you the warm fuzzies?  Don't worry world, we never even attacked Ukraine.

Right, the Russians just dropped some "love firecrackers" on their neighbors to celebrate how they would never attack anyone.

    Russia-Ukraine today:
"New: The U.S. is suspending normal trade relations with Russia, President Joe Biden announced Friday morning from the White House's Roosevelt Room. Biden also announced bans on imports of Russian vodka, seafood, and diamonds. "Putin is the aggressor, and Putin must pay the price," Biden said. "He can't threaten the very foundations of international stability and then ask for help from the International Monetary Fund."

"Update: Moscow appears to have lost more than 1,000 vehicles and pieces of equipment inside Ukraine, each of which has been documented on an open, verifiable list online, here. More than 400 of those have been captured by Ukrainian forces.

That includes more than 180 tanks and more than 100 armored fighting vehicles. Ukraine's documented losses are very likely much higher than the numbers suggest (293 as of Friday); but the incentive is, of course, much higher for Ukrainians to publicize Russian losses than the other way around. Read more on all those battlefield statistics, here.

Some Russian troops around Kharkiv are reportedly raising a white flag, only to shoot Ukrainian soldiers when they come closer to apprehend the Russians, according to the BBC's Quentin Sommerville. "

"Big picture take: "We may be seeing just how hard it is to wage a successful information war when you are very clearly the villain," Charlie Warzel of The Atlantic wrote on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Bellingcat's Eliot Higgins has a darker warning: "Every day of this conflict is a reminder that despite Russian disinformation being incredibly pathetic, there's always going to be people dumb enough to fall for it or shameless enough to share it."

There is a lot more but that is enough from me."

That's going to work out well for surrendering Russians going forward.

Tucker famously amplifies false Russian propaganda.  Manchurian Doosh-bag?  Who copies who?  Tucker or RT?

The same as with the Russians, Syrian troops only have experience fighting poorly armed rebels and only managed that with air support and chemical weapons. I don't see thsm doing well against the Ukrainians, especially when they're not exactly used to the cold weather.

Russia is desperate to reduce Russian casualties, Assad owes Putin a favour, so some of his guys get to die for Putin.

All I can see is that I think Carlson is taking the anti-Biden stance.  Gotta play to the Dumbphqueistan audience as he is doing-at least as I gather from here.  I can't find Fox Blather on my television.
Turns out the world is confronted with Putin waking up one day and deciding to reconstitute the Soviet Empire.  Ukraine is the primary target in his recent dream.  The West digs in-the US a major player and away he goes.

“Russian soldiers were evidently carrying dress uniforms for their victory parade in Kyiv rather than extra ammo and rations,”

Sounds like there was an intelligence failure.  This is a glaring example of what happens when you surround yourself with sycophants.

I am really not sure what Tucker Carlson and other republicans are doing supporting Russia.  The house and senate were theirs to lose, and they may have just done it.

I will not vote for any person or party who does not support Ukraine and disavow Putin.
Just remember Tucker isn’t running for office.
