@Ozzie_Isaac some of my best meals don’t have pictures because they are made great by my friends. Glad for you that happened last night!

Cold smoking…… a pound of longhorn cheddar this morning over apple and oak. Two rounds were rolled in chipotle powder first. May need to replace the ice in an hour. It was already 72°F when I started the MM and the sun wasn’t even all the way up.

Forgot photos at every step.  Had a wonderful dinner with friends. Had crispy salmon with a roasted beet and garlic lemon yogurt sauce pair with a rhubarb and sugar/lemon roasted side.  The garlic lemon yogurt sauce really brought both together. Only picture is a few of the empty wine bottles.
    ...
I've read this several times, and it sounds even better each time.

Also, I've been meaning to say that I love (read: envy) the cooking station setup you have. Makes cooking even more enjoyable.

It did not disappoint!  And thank you for the kind compliments and it definitely makes cooking more enjoyable - it is as fun as the dinner parties.

@CTMike- both the meal, and pic, look good! I dig the contrasting colors. And, that the egg and tteokbokki look like an alien/monster

Lastly, the egg turned out just the way I like them. Did you boil, or SV them?

Beautiful. Now I know what those rice cakes are. Had Korean fried chicken from a truck a few weeks back and it was served on a pile of those - I couldn't figure out what they were besides spicy, starchy and addictive.  This was at a brewery and it was the perfect beer meal.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Dropped the eggs in to boiling water, turned down to a gentle simmer for 7 minutes. Remove and immediately shock with cold water.

Seriously good looking, @caliking. You had me at lemon orzo, but everything else made me weak in the knees. Those crab cakes look perfectly done.

Thanks @johnmitchell, @GrateEggspectations, @lousubcap. The orzo side was new to us, and it's a keeper.

Tried something different with the crabcakes- 450F on lowest rack in the big kitchen clock for a few minutes, then top rack under the broiler for a few minutes. No flipping, no fuss. Next time, they'll each get a pat of garlic parm butter before going under the broiler.

With the beginning of summer this is always a favorite side.I plan to cook as an accompaniment to a leg of lamb tomorrow. Large text for us old folks😉

That looks and sounds very good. I’m saving the photo and going to give it a go!  Thx!

No never done on the egg. But I would think it would be much the same. Back in SA we would just follow this recipe, ball them up in tin foil toss them into the coals and hopefully someone would remember to pull them out😂
