Ya, I did last week. This is crazy

I planted mine on the 28th and it has had less than a tenth of rain.  We are way behind and I think a lot of guys said screw it, too dry.  My understanding is they are drilling it into dust out west but you never know when they will catch a rain. Ukraine is the variable, I don't know what the were able to get planted or if they can export.
Crop reports are bad. Ukraine won’t export much if any. Our people are talking shortages. Get ready for prices to skyrocket. God forbid they can’t barge it up and down the Mississippi River due to water levels. 125 18 wheelers to transport what one barge can carry. Ain’t gonna be good

I have never seen the Mississippi this low.  Scary low, even up here.  I cross it twice a day and it is seems you can watch it change almost daily.

The barges are still moving here, but after St. Louis, it gets a little sketchy.

I've read the barges on the Rhine (connecting German manufacturing to the sea) aren't allowed to leave with a full load anymore, the river is too shallow.

How are sea levels rising and rivers getting shallower.  I think we are being lied to, and birds don't exist.

Since the Mississippi River is connected to the Gulf of Mexico and the Gulf of Mexico is connected to the Atlantic Ocean all those stuck barges just need to wait for high tide.

Low water throws sand up on the banks and beaches creating deeper water. High water doesn't throw the sand up creating lower water levels. This is according to sappi, the water hydro on sebago. We drain the lake creating deeper water every summer fall and winter....

Rivers flow downhill, not horizontally.

All things equal, water will flow horizontally.

we have issues with low Mississippi River levels where a salt water wedge moves up the river bringing salt water fish and threatens the fresh water pickups for southern Louisiana.  The US corp of engineers sometimes build an underwater berm to keep it from invading New Orleans and further up river.

the river is 190 feet deep by me and we are around sea level.  Only thing that keeps the salt water out is the high flow.

Agreed.  But all things are NOT equal there, saltwater vs fresh water.

I've seen one on EweTube, but I believe the guy designed/built the system himself (his shop was eye-popping, very creative and talented).

I've seen add-ons like this (which is only $50):

Surprised there isn't one using a servo motor and keypad/dro to raise/lower it and not have to bother with a manual wrench.

Not sure how much that would buy you, there's still no way to zero out how far into the collet you slide the bit/cutter.
I've recently been using a small set of machined bars, using them to set depths of my tablesaw blade; I'm at the point where my sense of touch is more accurate than my eyesight.   :s

Pro-tip, when setting by touch, turn the saw off.
