Never seen an oven so clean :) I'm digging the SD in Romatopf...your pot looks the same as mine, have only made chicken in it after soaking and starting cold, care to share the process please?

IIRC you raise your own chickens and asked about chamber sealer capacity, did you get a VP215 or Vevors? Thought of you when sealing couple of birds in vp215 yesterday. Weight shown in label, as you can see there should be enough room even for a 5-6 pounder, or a small turkey.

I haven’t got a chamber sealer yet, the vevor seems interesting as well as the new anova. I like the vp215 but it’s pricey

the bread is a 1/2/3 recipie, this one is 125g starter, 250 gr water and 375 gr bread flour 8.5 g salt. Mixed, 3 stretch and folds, wait for about 60% rise, shaped into a Banneton and overnight in the fridge. Baked at 450 I use the Romatopf for loaves this shape and Dutch oven for boules

we just bought a new oven, this was the first bake in it. I doubt it will stay like that for long

@GlennM Do you soak and preheat the empty Romatopf, or start baking in cold oven with dough already in dry or soaked pot? I'm over thinking this  :)

It’s Nola. Somehow he is going to find every single item in this post somewhere in the garbage around his shop with some minor defect. He will put all of them on his bike, simultaneously, ride it back to his shop and fix each and everyone of them.

I had the same thing happen.  I bought a new one.  I have too many kids running around here to adopt the "safety third" mentality.  I have to make it look like I'm trying.  :-):-1:

On a somewhat related topic of  starting fires with propane/Mapp,  I have a Habor Freight Weed burner.  It has a "clicker" ignitor.  I have to get the fuel flow just right to get the thing to light.  I may click 2 times to get it to light or 25 times.  Is this normal?  Sometimes  I light the weedburner with the torch.  If most of you that use weedburners get it on the first or second click, please let me know and I will go buy another one.  Unlike Jealous Devil lump, my Rockwood sparks a bit at startup and I like being a little distance away.

@kl8ton - I very infrequently use a propane weed burner to fire up the LBGE (rest of the time it burns weeds).  Gas on and it will light within 2-3 hits of the igniter.  It's a Bernzomatic and I just fired it up (test run) on the second hit.   FWIW-

I bought an extension hose for my propane torch. Allows me to set the bottle on the table, away from the fire, and put the burner into the coals ... and leave it (no need to hold it with my hands). However, I've melted those plastic ones doing that ... so I went to a metal torch head.

I got a grill gun.  Works great, but first time I used it to sear a steak, I had my tongs near the platter.  I grabbed my tongs to flip the steak.  The tongs had apparently been subject to some of the flame and the plastic handles had softened a lot.  Now in a weird twist of fate they have a perfect thumb print and my thumb no longer has a thumb print.  Just so you know, you cannot shake off plastic that has melted to your hand.

I have a harbor freight weed burner. Mine is attached to a 25lb propane tank with about four feet of hose (unless I fold it). It has the click start that worked maybe three times ... then it died on me. I light it with a match (not my face and my a$$) and everything's fine. I figured it's harbor freight quality, which is hit or miss on many cheaper things like this, and at the time, the store was further from my house than it is now. I didn't move, but Harbor Freight stores have been getting closer and closer to me. It's like living in California during the eighties hot tub craze ... when around every corner you can almost see the CHTRG ( California Hot Tub Rectal Gonorrhea) coming right for you.

No, just put the loaf on a piece of parchment and set it in the dry vessel, same as you would a Dutch oven

may have been that the older map version burned hotter but theres an oring in there that fails if it gets too hot.  basically the whole head engulfs in flames and you are left holding a bomb, best to throw the bomb

Did the bomb ever go off after it hit the water and submerged?  You might be able to grab some easy fish that way...

...BUT I saw this ad on farcebook, and have been seeing a LOT of obviously-scam ads there recently (like a 21-piece le Creuset set for $37.97).
If i see this bag thingie at Lowes I'll be getting one.

I love my dogs, and appreciate you taking good care of yours.  Just remember, dogs with 3 legs get along just fine.
