This is the right thread.  @nolaegghead setup the other "cooking" thread just to steal views and posts from me.  I just let go out of proper decorum.  He doesn't want me to get the free XXL BGE offers for 1,000,000,000 egghead points.

Dang it, this is @nolaegghead 's thread too!  See what he did there.

I assume your asking about the ice from my Opal? Firms it up definitely, but not the end of the world.

Good to know.  I have been looking at them.  Dedicating the counter space is my only hang up remaining.

The question is was the prime rib recently bought?
  • @MediumRarely

That is a great idea, and thank you for the advice on cleaning it.  Will look for a cleaner at the local restaurant supply.

Did an inventory of on hand tea and pet supplies and placed a couple of replenishment orders.

We got home from a Colorado getaway last night.  Ran some errands today, one stop was a meat market for three racks of St. Louie's at $4/lb.  Came home with this...
And if you see this at Costco, buy it!  On sale at $5/bag right now.  It may contain Crack...

Fareway is great. Do you have one of the stand alone meat markets in your area?

Those came from a standalone Fareway Meat Market.  Unfortunately there are none of their supermarkets in my area.

I moved from @pgpresscott and my home town, just to get to a town with a Fareway.  I see a woman in Ames, where there is a standalone Fareway meat market.  She thinks I come to visit her.  She has a big freezer.

I feel your pain. My interior decorator wife met with our GC this morning for 2 bathroom renos. He called me laughing and said here we go
  • @ColbyLang we live in a modest house. 4 bedrooms. She has so much crap that we are now living in 1 room. I feel like I’m in a hotel room.  She and the GC keep changing stuff.  He and I are going to have a chat.  This all started with a cracked tile in the shower. We are now renovating 3 rooms. 🤦‍♂️

@dbCooper - great acquisition right there.  Enjoy.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

@The Cen-Tex Smoker  the one heads up I will offer regarding SRF Gold is to be well aware of the rendering.  Make sure there is no way the fat gets to your fire.  There's a personal story there that ended well but not without some excitement and ice cubes.
With that size you may be able to feed a good number of Fredricksburg locals as it is incredibly rich.
Enjoy as I am sure you will.

I offer no advice.  You are both titans of brisket.  I can barely make a hamburger.

Found a used one of the Polyscience/Breville Control Freak induction eyes. Has a temp sensor built into the unit to measure the skillet temp and a plug in one for either the food or the cooking liquid and can maintain temps accurate to 1.8 degrees.  Should be here Monday, I'm a sucker for toys.

Never even knew such a thing existed.  That is super cool.  Looking forward to your report.
