Thankfully my Ferrari is being driven from Italy to the US.  Dodged a bullet there…
My new macbook avoided the shipping bottleneck by being shipped by air.  Since the cost/weight ratio of your Ferrari is about the same, maybe it'll come over on a 757?

Last I checked that is the only source and the corrosive environment is well known.  But if you want to get into salvage while shipboard then their freshwater makers (I have no clue their capacity) can definitely mitigate the issues.
I'm sure the insurance claims will be total loss assuming the ship gets to port and not the bottom of the ocean where there is no debate.

Electric cars are a mess when on fire- a gasoline car can be extinguished with something around 4K gallons of water. Electric cars are still reigniting after 40k gallons.

It is an infrequent occurrence but a challenge for land based fire fighters. Can only imagine the difficulty on a ship with this number of vehicles.

Most of us are walking around with 1000-2000 milliamp hours of lithium 2 millimeters from our asses.  This isn't going to change any time soon.  Maybe we should start teaching our kids what do to if their cell phone/computer spontaneously combusts....."make sure you're wearing clean underwear".

Hopefully the fire isn’t in your garage. If so hook a winch to it, drag it out to the driveway, and let it burn out. One reason mine lives outside and the charger is there also. We were joking on the VW ID forum if Elon had an alibi or if Mr Toyoda torpedoed the ship.
  • I wonder if it was a battery car that started the fire, boy that would be a mess.

  • In 2019 another car carrier full of gasoline powered vehicles also caught on fire and burned out. It’s early days and the cause may never be known.

It had a newer toyota grill on the front, an early 2000 Extra cab Toyota tub, and tube front and rear clips with fiberglass panels.  At least that was my thought, only saw him driving.  Full coilover setup and professionally done light setup.

That's interesting. The only reason I ask is that it looks like a Ford Ranger cab. The older Toyota extended cab windows I thought are a little more angled. Plus the bottom quarter of the doors on Rangers extend out like the picture above.

Well dang!  I need to find that truck again.  The bottom quarter doors definitely match as do the windows.  I think you are right.  A Ford Ranger tub.

That is great camping machine.  Does that have the safari rear seats that fold up against the side?

It's hard to tell but that was my first thought. I could be wrong. Cool truck either way. I could only imagine how much fun that would be out in the sand.

Edit: I'm thinking it's a Ranger. It's hard to tell with the pics but the other detail I noticed was the key lock. The Tacoma's key lock in the late 90's/2000's were integrated together with the door handle. The Rangers locks were just right of the door handle. It appears the lock in the picture sits just outside the door handle. It would be neat to see some more pictures if you run across the truck again.

  • Looks like a ranger cab to me @WeberWho that said, it could have a yoda engine and hood emblem.   If I lived where you live @Ozzie_Isaac I would be looking hard at a Raptor. There are probably a few of those in town.

Ford is going to reveal the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor this Tuesday. It will be interesting to see how those sell around the US being cheaper then its big brother.

Yes it does. When solo camping I would take the rear passenger seat out. Great little rv.

We have a lot of Raptors around and a fair nimber of T-Rexs.  I have even seen at least two Mega-Raptors.  Those are F250/F350 Raptor conversions that used to be built in Phoenix at a shop called F250R.  They are beasts running at least 40s.  Funny when you see one next to a real Raptor because the size difference is significant.

Now I really want to see that red truck again.  Looking at Ford Raptor Grills and TRD Pro grills, there are a lot of similarities.  Due to size, I just assumed Toyota.  I think I would make a terrible witness.

Saw this today, not my cup of tea, but definitely stands out.  I struggle to identify Ferrari models.

Yikes.  I did not know it was possible to make a Ferrari with zero sex appeal, but… there it is.

Easy to find in a parking lot although the owner probably has a driver should he/she need to venture out and no valet service.  There's one behind the wheel.
Edit:  That comes with living in high roller country with expansive outdoor kitchen builds complete with horse spas.   :#

With that wrap it deserves to be a Fiero. It looks to be a 458 otherwise.
