Rather than judge them or call them names as many are inclined to do, I’ll ask if they explained their reason for declining.

ones far right, the other far left....its a hoax and never taking something involving the donald. been working with the head engineer in the hospital and might be able to get the crew vaccinated but have three not willing. i cant imagine going in there every few days with this and not wanting it. have a third thats an ativaxxer and have him working alone in another building. the three businesses next door have come down with the virus within the last few weeks so its not that they cant see whats going on

Have a zoom funeral service today for a friend who passed away from COVID Monday. Perfectly healthy before contacting the virus. So crazy how this virus attacks.

My newspaper had an article this morning about how some small businesses that applied for PPP loans are finding that they only received loans for very small amounts - VERY small amounts:

"The Paycheck Protection Program was a lifeline for millions of small businesses brutalized by the pandemic. Over a four-month span, the government program distributed $523 billion in forgivable loans to more than 5 million companies. The average recipient got just over $100,000.

And then there were the 300 business that received loans of $99 or less.

Judith Less, who runs a thrift shop in New Jersey, got $27. Nikki Smith, a baker and caterer in Oregon, collected $96. A.J. Burton, the founder of a record label in Arkansas, got $78. And Susana Dommar, a chiropractor in Texas, received a loan for $1.

Stephanie Ackerman, a self-employed college admissions consultant, was shocked when her loan deposit, for $13, showed up in her bank account."

I took my Dad for the Moderna vaccine yesterday morning. He is sleeping a lot today while my dog sits and guards him. Couldn’t take my Mom. She takes Plavix since she had a TIA a few years ago and a vein ruptured an inch or so from her eye, looks like someone gave her a right cross.

did pretty well during the first round, basically 2.5 months of payroll, insurance, interest on loans and a few other things.  big one was payroll, you would need to see their books, lots of tiny mom and pop shops compensate pay with rent to avoid certain taxes which would take these small payoffs into account and the sba wanted 18 months of payroll records. could also be due to filing errors, the paperwork was insane and backup from accountants and banks and health insurance was almost non existent when this all broke out and the panic at the time was huge. then the ppp loan application change three times in a week, i had mine submitted a few hours before they closed. the new changed ppp filing rules are already changing this week. still, i have my fingers crossed

In our state there were 2500 openings for the first shot at 10:00am on the website. Within 90 minutes they were all reserved.

Monetary fine is a joke, they should be jailed or sent to work at the motel where they claimed they work, at least until what would have been their vaccine eligible date.

I've generally thought any time you get a rich scumbag arrested for something that in addition to a fine jail time should be mandatory (assuming of course that the law allows for such a sentence).
This case is a perfect example of how any monetary fine is meaningless as the dude was making $10 million/year.

two million dollars is less than chicken feed to a state, the city here improved an intersection next to me with new designer curbing that interferes with snow removal and they put up new stop lights for over 2 mil. one tiny intersection.  that being said, if you get malaria i can send you some hydroxychloroquine, its also used for arthritis

Daughter who tested positive back at Christmas got her antibody test results back today and was negative. Frustrating.

If you’re into this kind of thing, you should check out Michael Osterholm’s weekly podcasts.  He is legit one of the leading international experts on infectious diseases, and the podcast is meant for the general public.

Definitely beats the alternative. Good for her!
  • I am scheduled for the Moderna shot February 17th.
  • Well it turns out that I carry dad to get his second Moderna shot the 10th, mom gets her's the 16th, and I get mine the 17th. Mom and I will be at different drive through sites 95 miles apart but my sister will take mom. Also the website lists Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson so I guess Mom and I will get whatever is both approved and on hand. She really wants the J & J but she is tired of waiting. She previously cancelled a Moderna shot when she had a blood vessel burst in her face.
