Now that there is a vaccine, we need the "across the culture" heavy-weights to be queued up and media hyped getting the shot.  This will go far in helping convince many that it is safe.
First in line should be POTUS (aka Cheeto) as that will change the trajectory of the nay-sayers but I hold little hope of that happening.
I am current culture driver challenged but I'm sure you could get a whole lot of media and eye-ball saturation with less than 100 celebrities in all fields to volunteer.  Too bad it won't happen.

I've been masked and isolated as much as possible since this whole thing started (thank god I'm an extreme introvert, and retired).
Please, everyone, be careful wherever you are; an old saying in the military is: No one wants to be the last person to die on the battlefield before the Armistice is signed...   :|

It was announced today that all senior guv'mint officials will be jumping to the head of the line (as it should be) but I don't know if cheeto himself will agree to that or not (why the HELL didn't Walter Reed bow to his Finest Medical Mind in History, and inject him with bleach as he stated?!?)
I understand Clinton, Bush Jr and Obama have all agreed to be injected simultaneously, in front of the cameras, and so has Fauci and others, so that's a step in the right direction...

My remaining family have already told me they will refuse to get the injection (and they won't get this year's flu shot, either).  I saw a meme on farcebook today:

America:  "No way I'm getting the flu shot, I'm not putting that unknown stuff into my body!"
Also America:  "Ooh, the McRib is back!  Yay!!"

Was going to send that to them all, but what's the point anymore?

All the hype about the difficulty of transporting the Pfizer vaccine was how critical that it be kept 100 below from factory to user end point and how they had to develop special super cold freezers and shipping packaging with insulation and dry ice that can keep the vials at 100 below for a few days.
Tonight I was surprised to see on the news that the vials can actually be stored in a refrigerator for up to 5 days before they are injected.
WHAT??? Seems like the hype machines were working a bit of overtime.

  • A buddy stopped by the other day. He’s probably 40 and had corona about a month ago. He looked like **** and was struggling to breath. He said he had asthma as a kid but whipped it later in life, non smoker non drinker. His dad also had it, hospital for a few days and had to have a platelet injection or something, he is doing better but still sick. Stay safe

I wonder how many of the anti-mask, hydroxychloroquine-espousing, bleach therapy promoting, "its no worse than the flu" chirping White House staffers will forgo their VIP vaccination status?

    Some of us are screwed.
I learned this morning that UPS will be delivering the vaccine primarily in the eastern US, while FedEx will be doing the western US.   :s

  • We got news today of my wife’s family friend who is deathbed-sick with a fairly aggressive cancer and in the hospital.  They have placed him in a room with several other cancer patients because they had to reconfigure the entire hospital to deal with the covid surge.  There are other details I won’t share but it all just sounds like one giant cluster-F.

converting a smoke extractor into a virus extractor is my best guess. looks like they been using smoke extractors in the icu but with a better filter attached. so many nooks and crannies on the old box im not sure how they were cleaning it. only in coved

Fill it full of those 285nm wavelength UV LED's that researchers in Israel have  shown kill 99% of viruses. I'm sure those kind of boxes will become an HVAC company rainmaker very soon.

showed them this one today and they ordered 7 more with the added holes shown and an inch taller. LED would be the way to go, the cheap looking disposable filter they showed me cost 5oo bucks a pop and im sure it needs to be changed often

It seems like people are just looking for things to get pissed off about and this group saw the mask mandate as their opportunity.  Morons?  Yup!

What is the rationale for the denial?

RIP "Mary Ann". Covid took you from us way too soon. "Ginger" is feeling awfully lonely now.
