I buy them like that too.  Much cheaper, although they aren't hard to shell.

Interesting thing about soybeans - they are healthy if they are cooked and/or fermented (and eaten in moderation).  Raw, on the other hand, they are almost considered poisonous....very bad for you.

That said, I love them.  Talking to Andrew (alasksassasin) who grows them, the GMO commodity soybeans and human-food soybeans are very different.  Only a very small percentage of all soybeans grown go into edamame, soy milk, tofu, soy-sauce, etc.  The vast majority are processed into oil and feedstock (and, believe it or not chemicals and industrial materials).

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

Henry Ford was a early promoter/implementor of industrial uses for soy beans.  In addition I believe his diet regularly contained soy beans in various forms.  Pic from a book I have, "Ford, The Men And The Machine", by Robert Lacey.

This reminds me of the Cybertruck demo, except that I expect the body of the Ford didn’t shatter.

    Roasting up some spicy almonds.

Just figured out what I’m doing tomorrow. You doing those on the egg? Time and temp?  What did you use to get the rub to stick?

250-ish for 25-30 minutes. I used some butter, Worcestershire and a bunch of spice. Threw the rub in at the end.

Wondering what is going on with the USPS these days.  Random first class mail can take over 3 weeks to get here from either coast.  Last I checked there are no elections happening at this time.  I know-first world problems.

Some moron appointed another moron to run the USPS.

....and 671 sorting machines were removed and destroyed.  They had a capacity of nearly 300,000 pieces per hour.

We had two Priority Mail 2-day deliveries going 23 miles south of our location. One went to Orlando-New York City and back before finally being delivered in 16 days.

The other went to Detroit, Michigan and back. Guess what, for $7.75, they don't guarantee Priority mail delivery in two days.

Landscape lighting maintenance. Have to back out the screws so the tree does not swallow them up by growing around them.   It was chilly up there this afternoon. It will be worse tonight when I have to re-aim them.
