Strange that it’s been sunk, there was relatively little controversy and almost everyone was in agreement. The Buffalo must not be a Kentucky fan.

Our children's school had a zoom meeting to discuss what all they are doing to re-open. One of the parents are anti vaxxers and man what stupid people. They would not shut up and said that if the children have to wear masks then their kids won't be coming back. He was also talking about how children are the least probable to have any issues and how we shouldn't be worrying. Then the idiot mentioned how they could bring it home to their parents which negates everything he had just said. I can't believe there are people walking around us every day that are this dumb. I am so glad I do everything I can daily to not talk to people.

Right? Like that's some kind of threat that you aren't going send your unvaxxed crotch-gobblin to school? One less whack-job parent they have to deal with.

No, like in my state unvaccinated kids aren’t allowed in school unless they have a letter from a medical doctor saying that they cannot be vaccinated due to medical issues. A Deep Red State that doesn’t put up with antivaxxer bull cr@p. Probably because we can’t afford the extra medical bills.

You don’t have to care about other people to want to get vaccinated yourself.  All you have to do is to open a newspaper and grasp that nearly 100k Americans have died in the span of four months.

I have no problem with masks.  And I’m hesitant to mention this as so much video is edited and altered.  But I watched a 60 Minutes clip of Fauci (sp?) , the god of covid, proclaiming that only the elderly, high risk, and infected, should be wearing masks.  Everyone else didn’t need to be.  Did anyone else see this?  What gives?

i donated most of my n95 masks to the nurses of a special needs home back in march that houses adolescents with social, emotional, and/or behavioral issues. , knowing what i know now i would have sent them all. the nursing homes here got slammed hard, the stories im hearing about 2 homes nearby are just devastating. one home in particular had a body count last week of 40, they only had 107 residents in that home to start with

and those n95 masks are just starting to become available again at 1 box a month to the shop, it actually pisses me off watching people wear those to the supermarket, its not needed, get a cloth mask that you can occasionally wash

I have cloth masks and a couple n95 and I have to say the n95 is so much nicer when you wear glasses. The cloth masks make my glasses fog up every time I breath and the n95 doesn’t.

The standard buttons don't provide one to appreciate your gesture. A very thoughtful, and generous, way to try and help your community. Bravo.

For lay people investing in/wearing N95 masks... don't. Their optimal benefit is realized after fit testing to determine the appropriate size for one's face. You can't just slap one on and think it will protect you as advertised.

After telling the masses for weeks that we didn't need to wear masks, now they tell us we have to....

One more proof positive that an over reaching Federal government isn't the answer...

But, I wear a mask when out in public...

If these were CLEAN, one time use masks that were used properly is one thing. Outside of a small fraction of users; almost all the mask crusaders are using the same humidity soaked piece of cotton (jeans can not keep a fart in, your cut up t-shirt has a chance) everyday, that has yet to be laundered as it sits on their dashboard when not in use incubating in a hot car.

Actually the sunlight can kill the virus on the surface of the mask. Cloth masks can also be dropped into the washing machine. My washing machine even has a cycle called sanitary. See the chart above for how effective masks are. If the Powers That Be had immediately recommended wearing masks I imagine that the death toll would have been a good bit lower.

I can’t understand what folks have against taking simple precautions like wearing a mask in public. Two people wearing masks don’t protect themselves  as much as they protect each other.

How many of those people would insist that surgeons or physicians NOT wear a mask when performing procedures on them? Those masks are worn to prevent infections in the patients.

Folks who can’t wrap their brains around that should agree to forgo diagnostic testing for COVID, any treatment, and vaccination (when available). Then let natural selection do its thing.

Just curious on the source and how they came up with the numbers?  This chart is interesting, but a lot of information missing for curiosity.

That Fauci interview was on 60 Minutes in April. He did not say masks should be rationed for health care, although that was still probably a big issue then. He said healthy should not be wearing masks at all. Not N95. Not cotton. He has studied virus' all his life. You mean one more month changed 40 years of training? And watching 60 Minutes was something a great many people do, not really being spoon fed the info from anyone with a right leaning agenda. I would venture to say that show is opposite that if anything...

I do wear a mask in stores to prevent confrontation. But I will not wear one for any length of time. Governor of Connecticut states clearly in the statute that those affected negatively by wearing a mask need not comply. HIPPA Laws forbid asking detailed questions. There certainly is argument that the mask may help stop a fraction of spread but does so at detriment to the wearer. Breathing excessive CO2 acidifies the blood and causes oxygen deprivation. It also makes the wearer breathe and concentrate this virus or any other contagion they may have. And wearing a mask (or sheltering home) weakens the immune system of the wearer over time(short amount of time).

Weighing the cost of the protections offered vs the risks taken wearing masks is a valid argument. I would not think outright condemning a person not wearing a mask is proper.
