With regards to the person being paraphrased, assuming they were sincere and not being sarcastic, it is important to consider how they acquired that belief.  In these times that should be identified and corrected for the good of all.

On a similar train of thought..... I watched the White House Presser today.   There was a non too subtle overture from our president that only friendly members of the press should be allowed attendance in future briefings.  From where I sit, President Trump surrounding himself with only "yes" people has contributed to our less than adequate response to this crisis.

Same here in the UK.  Boris got rid of any minister with a brain cell who would question his decisions, it's all top down direction. You can see the lack of  creativity and critical thought when stuff is announced and then taken apart with a few obvious questions from the press.
