With regards to the person being paraphrased, assuming they were sincere and not being sarcastic, it is important to consider how they acquired that belief.  In these times that should be identified and corrected for the good of all.

On a similar train of thought..... I watched the White House Presser today.   There was a non too subtle overture from our president that only friendly members of the press should be allowed attendance in future briefings.  From where I sit, President Trump surrounding himself with only "yes" people has contributed to our less than adequate response to this crisis.

Last night a lady called 911 to say that her husband has COVID symptoms and was told he could not get tested. She said that he is suicidal, even though he made no suicidal statements or threats. Medical personnel refused to go check the guy without the police going first, to confirm there is a patient. 
This is not a police issue, no crime or threat of self harm was made. Why are ambulance services (or the Fire Department for that matter) refusing services? Because the system is already strained.

Also, the department had to ask the general public to stop calling 911 to report business's that are not closing after the govenor ordered (requested) non-essential business closure.

I did not know there were people calling this the "Chinese Flu". It doesn't surprise me that people are harassing the Chinese (or any Asians, for that matter, since Americans who never leave home can't tell the difference). There is too many ignorant people and stress just seems to exacerbate it.

I didn’t read the article but the market has been absolutely on fire. When @Botch posted the photo of the hospital being built in Wuhan to contain a possible outbreak we all should have seen the storm coming and sold stocks.

I think the red flag here is that these folks started to sell on the same day they received the intelligence briefing.  Given what leaked from Burr's remarks, perhaps we shouldn't be surprised.

It's one thing to read stuff in the open press.  Quite another to have leading scientists tell you in a closed briefing that a contagion is spreading like wildfire and that the damage could be worse than 1918.

Going back to the issue that the wall street and corporate entities are positioned to get insider information through their political relationships that they pay generously for, I just want to, for the record, point out this isn't a single transactional issue.  Millions of people work to make money for a relatively small number of people that own and control the businesses that hire them.  I'm just saying that the people that have the money to lobby laws and policy to control the system have an advantage that maybe needs to be fixed.
