OT - Double’s Taco Dip

Everyone has their version of a multi layer taco dip. Here is mine. It’s always been a hit and gets scarfed down quickly.
Base layer consists of one package of Philly cream cheese softened mixed with one 16oz container of sour cream and a package of taco seasoning mix. I prefer Daisy sour cream and McCormick Original Taco Seasoning.
Next add one can of black beans drained and rinsed.
Next layer is chopped smoked chicken.
Add a layer of salsa. I use Paul Newmans salsa as it’s not too watery.
Follow that with a layer of shredded lettuce and top it all with Mexican shredded cheese. I use the entire package of cheese. Don’t skimp. Refrigerate for an hour and enjoy with chips.
Enjoy the playoffs everyone. Best weekend of football all year.

Question my friend. Have you ever tried it without the beans? Just curious if the beans make or break the dish so to speak.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

That looks great. Nicely done. I will have to give it a go. And you are so right about the best weekend of No Fun League football of the season.
My man, CC will be off the air after the first game today. Another bonus!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -

Made some today but smoked some ground bison for the protein and added red diced red onion. Really good flavor.

That dip looks delicious. I've only ever had it twice and both were vegetarian. It's "Smokin Gal", not "Smoking Al".

Looks fantastic! I love the idea of using smoked chicken instead of the usual taco meat. Thanks for sharing!

Here is mine. I omitted the lettuce, added Hatch brand diced chili peppers, and an extra 1/2 jar of salsa. It’s in the fridge waiting for later tonight.
