Update on Ryan, this is his wife Marci.  Surgery ended at 5pm he is on the vent for the night.  Some issues with rating of a membrane on the nerves, so had to has a blood patch.  Also on the anterior or front portion of the surgery the vascular surgeon has to stop a bleeding major vessel.  Hopeful things went well and we will be of the breathing machine tonight.   

He wanted me to update you, as he loves this group of people and your support of Norah Grace.

Now that is quite a statement of what this forum can mean/do. Thank you for the update and we are all pulling for @ryantt.  With you doing the heavy lifting he is a very lucky man.  And we all know the banquets Norah Grace is waiting to cook.

Good morning EggHead family.  They breathing tube name out about an hour ago, and I’m doing ok.  My wife did an update from my phone yesterday letting you know that there were a few problems.  They tore the dura or covering on spinal nerves and cord which caused the leakage of some of the fluid. Basically not a big deal they just basically use a blood patch to stop leaking and I had to lay flat.  It causes a horrid headache for a day or two but that’s it.  I was medicated and not functional last night at all so no biggie. During the front part of my back surgery while moving the organs to the side, they nicked a major blood vessel which was bleeding very badly.  The vascular surgeon was able to repair the vessel he nicked without complication per my wife.  

This morning the pain is horrible and I’m miserable; however, that will get better.   I greatly appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers for Marci and Norah Grace.  They were very scarred that I would t make it.  

It wont be long before I get home and Chef Norah Grace makes her dad a gettbettr meal.

Consider kratom if you have pain problems you want to manage.  Much less addictive than opiates and less brain fog.  Legal in Ohio...for now.  It's a tree leaf from Asia, been used for millennia.  It's helped me out through some knee and back pain.
