Folks will be showing up soon....a few went back to bed after breakfast and Robin's Bloodies.

Ron prolly has the long shot ticket. Ordering the XXL and medium (assembled), and delivered first thing in the morning. Rapidly thawing his SRF stash.

Party on in full on Rage. Crazy Derby for sure. At Rons the good crazy ensues.

How cool was that? We bet on line and one person in our group bet 10 on the winner@ 65:1.
Folks dropped bye before, during and after the race and had incredible stories of tickets tossed on the ground wort some money.
All these and more.
We have about 6 pounds of smoked pork roast left, with a little bleu cheese sriracha cole slaw left.
We combined them both in tacos...o.m gracious....
Then we had man club, we drank a bottle of Willet...and our Beautiful Wives, let us.
Yeah.

Our guest list was a mix of some of the coolest folks you and I will ever meet.
Do not wish to get into environmental politics, but these are names you and I know very well.
Also pretty cool dudes around the pit.
Wish you could make it.
Going to see JJ Gray in Nashville, with Jonny Lang opening for them.

I know you've been cooking up a storm. Those tacos sound like the bee's knees. I don't even like bleu cheese. But I can still taste that sauce you made for the tenderloin sliders at BB.
Dayum.

Is the Lite beer representative of what you served? Or did one person just show up with his/her own and drink it at your place? It looks out of place with the rest of the good stuff.

We had about 20 folks show up for the party, doubt I will be able to pull this off again. I made enough bleu cheese - sriracha cole slaw to feed an army, zero left. Everybody wants the recipe, but the problem is, I know what I put in it, I just dont know how much. I just grab and go...
I will put together something and post it if anyone wants it.
The pulled pork tacos were a hit. About 70 were had.....several folks went without the taco and just combined on the plate.

I had a few people share your sentiment about bleu cheese, but really liked the sauce.

I have beer in the fridge from many folks that come to our dinner parties, and leave whatever they do not drink. Suzy and I do not drink beer, if I have 1 per month, that is a lot for me, and that is just being social. Most of it likely will get poured out at the end of the night. I have had a couple where it was just right and finished them.
Usually it is one can of their choice, then straight to my wine fridge. Last night was no exception. One guy showed up with a miller lite 12 pack. There are 11 left in our fridge.
I usually, when I think about it, give the leftover beer away to a friend of mine to take with him when he goes fishing.

For a minute I thought you were talking about Gary. The 11 left cleared that right up though.

Sounds like one he!! of a great time. No doubt about the inhaling of the food and your wine. Thanks for the eye-witness derby attendee comments. I can't imagine the chaos that ensued and the ticket search is definitely not a surprise.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
Ron in honor of your KYBB, I cooked two peach pork shoulder butts on Saturday. I delivered th large one to the neighbors next door who were hosting a party. The butt and salsa were outstanding, everyone raved on your recipe. We were steady doing shots of tequila and drinking wine having a good time. It was 10:30 am Sunday when I remembered ‘my’ extra butt was still resting in the Yeti. I was about tearing up as I tossed it in the trash. Still an amateur but working on it.

My Beautiful Wife has told me that is her favorite thing I make on the egg. So many layers of flavor and textures. The char is unreal.
I am happy your beighbors liked it. It is a lot of work, however the results speak for themselves.
Thanks for letting me know how it turned out.
