I've kinda grown tired of my Blackstone

SaintJohnsEgger said:Never got one. But after the New Year I ned to fix the current gasser or get something else and I'm thinking about getting one to replace it. Hopefully I've got a gas smoker coming for Christmas. But my luck is usually lousy so who knows what I'll end up with.
Find a steel shop that sells cutoffs or "scrap". There's a place here in CT that sells it for $1/lb. A piece large enough to cover a gasser would probably cost <$25. I use mine only for oven pizza these days, but to illustrate, this (on my kettle) cost $12.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Ya I think I’m gonna make breakfast in the morning. Bought some bacon, shredded potatoes, Texas toast, and eggs. I love how fast this thing cooks bacon so maybe that will help me appreciate it again.

I bought a camp chef version about 20 years ago, used the crap out of it on multi-family camping trips, sports pancake breakfasts, etc. I donated it to the HS softball team after my daughter graduated about 6 years ago, I knew I wouldn’t ever want it for just personal use. The blackstone hype almost got me last year, but it has passed. A friend has one at his deer camp and it’s great for that.Love you bro!

My Beautiful Wife bought me the 36" Blackstone, this year, back in May, I believe.
I have not opened the box as yet. However, this holiday season, we will have a house full of guests to feed every day, and I plan to pull it out of storage, assemble and use for just about every meal I will not smoke or roast.
Breakfast will be huge for us with this thing, and fried rice will be as well.
Throwing about 262 plates down just for these guests, not counting others for xmas dinners, NYE, etc.
It should establish itself very well, and be worthy for keeping after this holiday season."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

We don't like much frying in the house so my 22 BS works great. I keep it on a shelf in the garage and cook on a foldable 4ft table with a 24x24 plywood under the griddle for heat protection. In the summer I cook either in the garage or the breezeway depending upon wind and inn winter in the garage. We like griddle slow cooked bacon better than oven cooked and can keep the bacon grease in jar for later use. We also like the fried rice, Fajitas, burgers, sirloin steak, and a few other thing we eat done on the griddle. It is easy to clean and store.I XL and 1 Weber Kettle And 1 Weber Q220 Outside Alvin, TX-- South of Houston
