Today, I bought an Ice house. If that makes no sense to most of you, be glad.  An ice house (Some call them, shanties) is a small portable pop up structure attached to a sled.   We dumb northerners sit in these "Ice Houses" on frozen water for about 5 months a year. We sit on frozen water staring down a 6" hole waiting for a fish to come up.  I repeat, we sit in the ice house staring at a 6" hole......
i broke down and got a big hub a few years back =)

I'm a bit of an audiophile.  And was distressed when I learned that Oppo is going out of the manufacturing business, and their players will no longer be available.
I have a pretty good-sized collection of DVD-A, SACD, and Bluray Audio disks that are only playable on such units.  They are 5.1-channel recordings with higher fidelity than CDs, and my current Oppo is now in the shop for a burned-out motor.
My local dealer had a "lightly-used" Oppo player for half the new price (if they were available) so I sprang for it.  I'll continue to use my current player once its fixed, and save this one "just in case".  There are some Sony players available new that are universal players, but the price I got on the second Oppo tipped the scales.

I'm a bit gunshy wrt obsolescence on expensive items; I was able to find a bizarre nylon gear for my Inca Jointer/Planer, but when that one goes I'll have a $2,800 paperweight.  And let's not even bring up my beloved '01 Saab....

Before that nylon gear fails you might consider having it scanned so it can be modeled and 3D printed later on if need be.

You have a Saab.  I forgive you of everything.  Always loved them, never owned one but the in laws had a couple, including a 9000 CD 'Griffin' a few years ago, with GM's V6 3 litre lump up front.
Still tempted by 9-5 Aero convertible as our '3rd car' when domestic circumstances permit.

Doesn’t look like I’m buying anything for the next couple of days. Got a fraud alert at 3AM. Thief goes to eat at Applebees and then hits up Kroger for a few hundred. All hand keyed in charges so you know their little buddies were involved. I hope those fvckchops get salmonella.

I’m debating whether I want to drive up to Costco and pick up a new vitamix or blendtec.

I am looking at 2014+ and the prices are all over the place.

I have a blendtec, it's legit. I got the mini wildside jar for smaller blends, I love it.

Well I was just told I can’t get it now because SWMBO may get it for me for Christmas. So I guess I’m waiting
