Our Blendtec was well worth the money. Can shake a little at very high speeds, but just stabilize it yourself.

The ones I buy always come with a mechanic who installs them. 😂

@Eoin - Just what every Egger needs, more freezer space.  Just like a garage, fridge, closet etc- it will be max'ed out soon.  ;)
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

We already have a split fridge one side / freezer on the other in the kitchen, then a separate fridge and a separate freezer in the utility room. This one is for meat! You're right about space, the more you have, the more you use.

Doesn’t look like I’m buying anything for the next couple of days. Got a fraud alert at 3AM. Thief goes to eat at Applebees and then hits up Kroger for a few hundred. All hand keyed in charges so you know their little buddies were involved. I hope those fvckchops get salmonella.
    That suck Michael. Sorry Bud.

Hope that went well. Sometimes those plugs are hard to get out intact.

pulled a yota tundra out of the mud last week, what a mess =)  still cant believe those low profile racing tires worked in the mud. just spin the dial to mud, hit low range, flick the height selector to high, and hit the gas

Land Rover's off road traction control is magic. The term Chelsea tractor is not to imply that Range Rovers are poor off road, rather that they are more frequently seen in wealthy parts of town than in the country.

its different on this side, we start with a 50,000.00 dollar jeep, then upgrade every component and add accessories galore, an additional 50 k, then take it mall crawling in a parking lot =)

Just booked 25th wedding anniversary trip to the Cook Islands.
@pescadorzih. Nice purchase!  I am so eager to get out in that part of the world.  Would love to see a thread on that trip, especially on the culinary aspect of the region.
Gonna wet a line while there?  (I hope)

Yes. I will definitely be doing a thread when I get back. Bucket list trip. Late Spring of next year.
You pretty much need to book 8-10 months in advance, as it books up quickly.

Yes, I will be going fishing 1 day for sure. Deep drop off as soon as you clear the atoll. Tuna, Mahi and wahoo are the main targets.
Trying to decide if I want to learn to fly fish, before going, as they have some huge bonefish on Aitutaki and that is another of my bucket list things to do.

Culinary wise, it should be great with French and Asian influences. I'll be eating a lot of seafood and will have some New Zealand lamb while there also.

you would not get me off a bonefish flat if i were there.   you need lessons in distance casting and a 5 day trip to the bahamas late march/early april,  hardest thing with bonefish is seeing them, sometimes its a light shadow, some times its just an eyeball you see.  you will need equipment too, a large 300 yard reel and a good 9 weight rod. theres nothing like catching a big bonefish in skinny water

This. I have caught a 112 lb yellowfin on a fly, and while the initial run was strong, it was nothing to the bonefish run. The water is shallow, so they can only go far, and fast.

Once you learn to cast using a double haul, you got 98% of the challenge, but you have to be able to hit a 3 foot circle from 100 feet.
If you get a 8-10 wt rod (fishless is right- a 9 is perfect), I can teach you the casting. (If my 9 was not busted by a small travally on a flat a few years ago in Hawaii I would let you use mine) You can practice all you want on land. When you get there, the guide can give you the location of the fish and pick out the terminal tackle, but if you can cast, the rest is simple if the fish cooperate and are there Relatively speaking of course.  They are called the “ghost of the flats” for a reason.

8 pounders are really good fish, i have not caught a double digit yet.   its not always a 100 foot distance cast, its usually takes a hundred foot attempt to get the fly 40  feet to 50 feet into the wind ;) and ive dropped a fly once between my feet and hooked up once. you need to practice the long cast, get someone to show you the basics, read anything from lefty krey and ed jaworowski. ed is from pa and might still be doing classes out of the shops, i did an 8 hour day class with him once. if you hire a guide its not his job to get you to cast, its his job to see the fish and tell you where to cast, he will see the fish at 100 feet, you see nothing, the fish will be at 50 feet, you see nothing, guides yelling for you to cast, theres the fish at 12 feet, you see it, its too late =) it takes me a couple days before im seeing fish but theres always those days when they are tailing, you see the fish drop down for a shrimp, the tail rises up over the waters surface, you make the perfect cast, the line lands over 30 fish between you and your prize, you never saw those fish, boom, they spook and are gone B)

**** brown has some good stuff on the actual fishing, what to look for, times of day, tides etc. pretty much a must read for bonefishing

Vitamix had their road show set up at our local Costco this weekend. I didn’t get it but the new vitamix is digital and Bluetooth and they have a Bluetooth scale they sell now you just put the canister on the scale and choose a recipe and connect your phone or tablet and it tells you by weight when you have the right amount of the ingredient. The guy made a apple cinnamon ice cream and showed us how it works it’s pretty cool. It’s not crazy expensive compared to past models it may be cheaper even it was $580 with the vitamix and scale.
