Thanks for the kind comments on the board, the glue up isn’t perfect (3 mm out of square) but not bad for a first attempt.

Nothing like this 3D tesselation board I came across in a FB group today. Of course this guy has a 4-axis commercial CNC machine to do the hard work for him:

I’ll gladly buy your blems as well. That board there is art, I’d be mad at myself for scratching it

Agreed, I’d be afraid to use it. I do plan on selling boards once I finish getting the shop set up.

Well I just took delivery yesterday of this 800 lb beast, Powermatic 8” jointer with helical cutting head and parallelogram infeed/outfeed tables. Since I am getting out of the BBQ catering biz, I have decided to upgrade my wood shop...
I hate you.  You know that, right?

Congrats on the new jointer!  When I transitioned from AD Air Force to Snivilian life, I used part of my severance to get a 10" Inca jointer/planer, a much lighter (400 lb) but high-precision tool from Sweden.  It worked beautifully for several years, but then a design flaw killed it (aging rubber belt that held a nylon planer gear against a steel one, which eventually got stripped), and Inca was out of business.  $2,800 paperweight, now.

Pics when your Powermatic is set up, please!   :)

I have a clearvue, bought it from a guy brand new still in the box but damaged.  He ran a custom wine cellar business and bought it as a backup and It apparently got dropped in a shop move.  Bought the same heat formable plastic they are made from and patched it.  Does a great job and is a necessity with my shop being in my basement.  Looking forward to seeing your new jointer.

I want to know how you got that 800 pounder out of the truck and in position? Skyhook? Like, Botch, I have a basement shop and would be challenged getting something that size down there. I think I used up all of my credit with buddies originally getting the saws and drill press down there.

A friend came over with his Kubota and I have some 10K rigging straps from work that failed inspection so they had to be thrown out. I am converting my 26x36 garage in to a shop, need to keep as much dust out of the house as possible due to the wife’s asthma.

Another AR stone from CGS. Went to pick up the AR the other day to put in the EGG and the stone slid out the back. Somehow the back brace wasn't in its slot correctly. Luckily I still have my PS.
