This thread cracks me up, BGE is the litmus paper all other brands are measured against. No harm in the others on both ends, but if you're that worried then just go buy the darned KJ (and let the forum know when someone can come pick up your egg)...

What's a microwave?  Is that like what you start out surfing on?
It is a technological wonder that most on this forum don't fully appreciate they prefer to cook over a fire (Neanderthals). The Microwave cooks much faster, more thoroughly, and much more efficiently and any other cooking means. We are constantly finding new abilities that this amazing food machine has ... for instance did you know that the CIA can spy on you though your microwave?

What are you saying?  You implying these posters are being sent here by the other kamado companies?
If they are they have been playing the long game - there are threads on this site that mention Kamado Joe (and probably Primo) going back at least six or seven years. :)

I kinda like the fact that I had to purchase my BGE from a local dealer and not from a big box store. I like that about BGE, not there this anything wrong with big box store its just when I'm spending the amount of cake for one of these I would just like a little attention. Just my opinion.

In all that time, I'm not sure you have posted a single cook on your egg. I could be wrong, but I don't ever remember it. Maybe you're the owner of KJ?

That came out of nowhere, but maybe you've spotted something we all missed.

Also KJ and KGB are so similar. The plot thickens.

Never have posted pix of any cooks here (or anywhere else) and likely never will. Too lazy for that.

If I WAS the owner of KJ things would be different. They'd be made in the US in a Big League™ facility, using only the best Big League™ materials. They would outsell every other cooker in the market. The demand would be so yuge your head would spin.

The color would probably stay the same tho - Kremlin Red. :)

I think since everybody got fired at the DNC, for allowing the United States Of America to elect such an idiot, that even circus clowns think he is goofy, have a lot more time on their hands, and post on this thread.
@JohnInCarolina Save your points brother, the Democrats will put a beat down on this ship of fools, and all will be right again.

Not sure what all the fuss is about.  I heard somewhere that if you like your kamado, you can keep your kamado (or something along those lines.)

I struggled with which brand to purchase.  For me, it boiled down to the fact that I trust the BGE company to be around for a LONG time.  I plan on my BGE lasting decades, not years like with my gas grills.  And if I need a replacement part 25 years from now, I want to know that the company that sold my grill will still be around.

Last summer Costco had a Pit Boss grill that looked just like this. Nest , side tables grates and plate setter type heat diffuser. $350 I almost pulled the trigger but decided to wait and get a BGE. I just felt I was getting a better quality tool. Kmart sockets work but snap on tools are a better quality product.
I found my Large used for $375.00 no platesetter but a new gasket!!. I will say what worries me is the amount of warranty claims people here say they have. I have zero warranty since mine is used. For a $1000 a good warranty is something you want but I think you would also want to not have many claims. I love my egg and the
level of my BBQ has increased a ton, but at times I wonder if the pit Boss with a few tweeks might not have been a good move also.
I looked at the KJ and wasn't impressed to the point of abandoning my egg dream

BGE grills pop up at Sam's Club on a regular basis. Is that better or worse than a big box store?

that grill is made by vision, my little mini cub is a great little egg, the daisy on it is not as nice as a bge daisy but its an easy work around. it is well worth the hundred bucks i paid for it when vision discontinued  the kub. the wooden wing tables come off for storage with no tools for those that want to keep it looking good

Yeah unfortunately its not "if" they crack, it is "when" they crack.  I just replaced a base, fire ring, and firebox.  Good news for you though is when something does crack you can pay to replace that individual piece and then that piece will have warranty.

@SGH  Grilla's Kong Ceramic Grill is the same as Dansons' (Louisiana Grills) Pit Boss Ceramic Grill except the Kong's warranty is only 4 years.  I'd never buy a ceramic grill with only a 4 year warranty over the internet.

Not one to care about gadgets and gizmos. If it doesn't improve the function of things don't need it.....what is offered for a KJ is of 0 concern to me.....don't need to have every new gadget...hell, I am driving around in a 99 Explorer and 02 Duramax pickup...and probably will til I die lol....

BGE will still be around in a decade, but it will be called something else. The current owners are clearly riding this pony off into the sunset and will sell it when they retire.
