@nolaegghead your casual dismissing the troubles in Germany is laughable and not the sentiment of the majority of Germans.

Wessb would always stir up stuff, then complain about it not be a friendly place anymore.

When we were vacationing in Norway, I read in the Stavanger newspaper that classes were being held to teach the refugees not to rape women.

You kind of did it to yourself. Stop blaming us!
That pretty much told everyone that she was going to be Obama part III. Sequels usually suck but part three always stinks.
So yes your failed candidate is one of the reasons he got elected. You may not like it, but that doesn't mean it isn't true.
It seems to me there's plenty of blame to spread around, but folks who voted for this clown show do deserve a lot of it. Everything we're seeing now was telegraphed months ago.
So I agree with you that the GOP is also responsible for Trump because the establishment candidates proved, at least to the republican voters, that they didn't have the stomach to fight.
Trump got elected because he ISN"T a politician, but the fact is that it was all a big ANTI-OBAMA (Hillary) vote."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike -

No idea what the next 4 years (and beyond) will bring but it will be a change.
Like Nola I'm a little worried about what this may mean but i feel like the path we were headed down was going to get us there in the long run. Rolling over and compromise is not what this country was founded on or what brought grudging respect or at least fear from the rest of the world.
So is it better to be feared or loved.

For me, that is perhaps the most alarming aspect of all of this. I thought/hoped that "we" were better than that.
I'm past that, now.

The 9/11 terrorists came from the 3 countries that are not in the travel ban (incidentally Trump has business in those countries).

I have lots of liberal friends in Germany that will openly admit that Merkels refugee program is a freaking disaster.
Are you happy with deporting dry foot Cubans back home John?
In the longer term, Germany will be better off and most Germans realize that.

@nolaegghead
....trust me when I tell you.....its hard... to decipher one from the other when your trying to avoid losing your life. ., politics fade away, reality sets it.. and that is that others do not want us to be free.... that... that alone is hard to take given how much blood has been shed for our freedom. liberal, democrat, conservative, or republican, they all bled for freedom.
Go Gamecocks!!!

These are the folks that have had to deal with this refugee issue far more than we have. Merkel's policy is total crap and Western Europe is paying the price for her dumbass decisions. Central Europe basically told her to piss off. Poland gave her and the EU the finger and accepted no refugees Greece is the first stop for many refugees... 94% disapproval rating.

For sure- it's been amazing for France and Belgium. It will continue to pay benefits for the foreseeable future.

Not in our United States. No way.

Hey, we are Americans. We fear no one when it comes to our freedom and the freedom of others. Why do we fear now?D'you think I could interest you in a pair of zircon-encrusted tweezers?
