just curious what everyone has at there disposal for backyard cooks. My wife says I have a problem but enjoys everything I cook. My biggest problem is that I am cheap and enjoy getting deals on my outdoor stuff. So here is my list
Large big green egg (375$ used off Craigslist)

weber kettle ( renter left it behind)

Charbroil pro series gasser (20$ at a yard sale)

refurbished barrel grillI ( free $ 10 in paint

2 brinkman smokers ( retired since i got my egg)

28 inch Blackstone ( new this week$99 Walmart)

my eye is looking at the Blackstone pizza oven now but I have made some good pies on the egg so I will wait till I find a good deal

  • I know the feeling. My wife gives me grief as well. 2 Large BGEs, 36 in Blackstone, a large barrel smoker, 3 propane cookers for frying and a Weber. And a rack of supplies on a rack in the garage. It's a sickness.

I have a large & MM egg and a place for coals for the dutch oven. I'm ordering my Forno Bravo wood fired oven tomorrow. I can't imagine needing anything else...except a Lone Star Grillz vertical offset smoker...
    Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

As long as  I cook on them my wife understands. They're  not hanger queens. 1XL, 1lge, 1med,  1mini, 2 vision grill kubs and a Fire Magic gasser.  I had a nice
New Braunfels offset smoker  but I gave it away since I never used it. I also have a fire pit with  a swing grill.

I have a subterranean smoker that I've been digging for years, smuggling the dirt out in cigarette packs, from a hole that starts under my house.   It extends into the surrounding few blocks.  Honestly, I've had some structural challenges.  Like water intrusion.  And raccoons.

One LGBE, a CharBroil gasser with infrared and a CharBroil electric smoker plus the eggcessories listed in my signature and a few other items. I also have propane and wood burning fire pits.

I would love to add a Blackstone but until I start doing more of the daily cooking my wife won't approve of any more purchases.

Walmart appears to be clearing out the 28" Blackstones. Use this site to check local inventory and pricing as the prices are not the same online:

    http://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker/

SKU for the 28" is 36323162 - most stores are $99 but some are $50.

And at least one store near me has the 36" for $150. SKU 39891191

If you find inventory at a store with the higher price but have a store near you with the lower price, sometimes you can buy from the higher price store and then go to the lower price store and ask for a price adjustment (just go to customer service and say you see that they just lowered the price on this item and you would like an adjustment - usually works, but not all the time).

    Good luck!

Discadas... I didn't count that. I only have one that I made from an old plow disk. I don't use it often - but for some things it's wonderful. How's the bread coming?

Not as much as many here. I have a LBGE, a 22" Weber, and a Smokey Joe that I use for 2 burgers, 2 hot dogs, etc.

The Smokey Joe sits on the wooden table next to the BGE. That's the herb garden on top of the mini-fridge.

    Lol

Honestly, I go through phases with each size.

If you're a brisket and ribs guy, then 22.

All around, it's hard not to put the 18 up there.  I added a third rack and have smoked 6 8lb butts no problem, a charcoal miser for sure.  Ribs and brisket can get a little tricky. Some foil in the right places takes care of it.  Used to shoehorn briskets with empty cans.

It's pretty badass to lay three slabs on the top rack of the 22, with plenty of room to breathe.

Lately, the 14 has been a smoking beast.

Hell, I dunno, too hard to pick just one. Hahahaha

    22 and 14 is a killer combo.
