Whither Salado?

I am gearing up for a busy spring of cooking to make of for my absence at recent events.

Any news on whether Salado will be on again this year?

Excellent! One of the kids of one of our old friends is getting married in March, and was not thoughtful enough to consider the EggFest schedule before setting a date. I was already figuring out how to cook Friday night and help @caliking prep before driving to Corpus Christi for an evening wedding. Thankfully, they are a week off, and we can return to our usual plan of going nuts enough to barely avoid the hospital.

And here is the list of the Texas Eggfests for next year.
I believe all of these to be correct.
    Going to a busy!

    Salado is 3-11.
    Texarkana is 3-25.
    Athens is 4-8.
    Texas (Driftwood TX) is 4-29.
Space City (Spring TX) is 5-20. (?)
    Jefferson is 10-14.

Thanks for that.  It looks like Team NFA will be pretty busy this spring.

I'll probably miss Texarkana but am in for Salado, and likely in for Athens (liked it), Texas (haven't been, but Driftwood is beautiful) and Space City (home game).

Jefferson will depend on schedule, and it is way too early to guess re: October.

I live 3 miles from  BBQ Outfitters in Austin, not sure why they have fest so far away.  I swear its easier for me to get to Salado even though its 15 miles farther.  I will aim for one of these this year if Select Soccer doesn't get in the way again.
XLBGE, LBGECharbroil Gas Grill, Weber Q200, Old Weber Kettle, Rectec RT-B380, Yeti 65, Yeti Hopper 20, RTIC 20, RTIC 20 Soft Side - Too many drinkware vessels to mention.

Not quite in Austin, TX City Limits
Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.

Salado, Athens, Space City, and Jefferson are already on our calendar. Will have to see about the other 2. It'll be the most fests I've  cooked at in a year if I make it to all of them.

I love Bob and BBQ Outfitters- Truly great people and the fest is really good too. That being said, Salado is the bomb. Pre-party, after-party, during party. Did I mention party? Austin fest is crazy busy (which is good) so you are busting ass for 6 straight hours. We fed 700 people last year and it was non stop from the opening bell to closing time.

Salado is more about hanging with fellow eggheads and acting a damn fool. And cooking a little- mostly for eachother outside of a few hours when they let civilians in (I've been meaning to talk to them about that part). Austin is a competition and cooking for the masses. Still fun but not the same vibe as Mickey created down in Salado.
