SGH, ThatGrimGuy, Randy the Gumbo Person, Me and some other folks - Crawfish Boil Competition

I took today off work to prepare for the 15th Annual Louisiana Crawfish Boil Competition.
A few of us forum denizens (again) take a foray into another genre of cooking. In this case the method is through heat transfer using heated dihydrogen oxide solution to cook small crustaceans. The purpose is to have fun because you only live once.
http://louisianacrawfishchamps.org/
So, after an entire day of running around town acquiring supplies, loading and moving stuff to our booth (#13 next to the Hooters Girls, I believe) in some of the worst weather we've had this year, we're excited about Saturday's boil.
There are 53 teams cooking around 20,000 pounds of crawfish for hungry hoards of locals.
SGH is crashed in our spare bedroom. Jazz the cat normally sleeps there. I don't think he's gonna move, so Scottie will have to share the bead.
Weather forecast for tomorrow is idyllic. Homebrew on site. Blackstone griddle on site. Evan Williams on site.
We will be experimenting with an immersion cooler system designed for wort to cool the boil. Pump, battery on site.
We'll keep you updated, if you care to monitor.
Cheers.

This strange but nice magician told us it was OK to drink beer in the team meeting on Wednesday. We complied.

The Friday night party was mostly rained out (band started playing during a brief period without rain and soon said fck it when it started pouring again) but we're gonna drag our butts out of bed early Saturday and git er done!
Pictures to ensue. Hopefully. We'll be pretty busy.

(in other words, we'll probably lose to seasoned coon-asses that have been cooking since they could wear white shrimp boots and drive a go-devil before they learned to read).

Dihydrogen oxide can be tricky. Good thing I will have some trusty ethyl alcohol on hand to get me through it. Not my first time here though...I know the ropes (at least through some foggy memory) from last year, somewhat *burrp*.

I am beyond jealous. I can't get crawfish here in Canada and have always wanted to do a boil. I will be watching this thread closely. Good luck and "Go Team"!!!Mt Elgin Ontario - just a Large.

Dang- sounds like a great way to spend a night and following day. As long as you have plenty of adult supervisory beverages and a designated driver nothing serious can go wrong. Have fun and enjoy inhaling the crustaceans.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
