saluki2007 said:Yes ron those are the crawfish. Do you know of anything like this around here. I miss going to crawfish boils. When I lived in memphis I went all the time. I have not found any resturants around here that serve them either.
Not sure where you're located, sounds like you might be farther north, but STL has a fair amount of crawfish boils throughout the summer.XL, Medium BGE & Blackstone I XAR-Woo2 & Rig-BO I Flameboss 500St. Louis, MO -
St Louis does? THAT is interesting. Just about as strangle sounding to me as the smelt fries that we used to have here in central Illinois. It never seemed right that there would be smelt fries with all the corn fields around us!!! Where did they come from? @RRP ... fried smelt? Oh man, that does make me feel nostalgic. I've netted them and caught them on hook and line. Sounds dumb to catch them on hook and line, but what a blast. Nice shanty on the ice with a lantern for warmth. Fine line and hooks on fast retrieve reels. Three guys can catch a few meals worth in a couple hours when they're biting.RRP said:

You did a great job, Scottie. We had people waiting for our crawfish and people coming back for seconds and thirds.
Don't know what happened to Randy, he was last seen around 4 PM, we hung around until 7:30, then left. My phone was dead since 3PM. Hope he is ok.

Anyway, we cooked 312 pounds of crawfish, plus a bunch of other stuff. Good times. Glad I'm home. Hope Randy isn't in jail, tried calling him a few times after I put a new battery in my phone.

Ha small world. I live in Edwardsville. They actually have one in town at a local bar, the wooden nickel. Broadway oyster bar will have some and they'll have live music going, soulard, I wanted to go to the urban chestnut one but it sold out actually. Idk about any competitions but I bet you could find quite a few boils if you did some GooglingXL, Medium BGE & Blackstone I XAR-Woo2 & Rig-BO I Flameboss 500St. Louis, MO -
