Haven't had any milestones recently, but next year is SWMBO's 40th birthday and our 10th wedding anniversary.  We're planning a family trip to Paris on our daughter's spring break.

It was 20 years ago next month that I moved into this house and to Utard.  Made the last house payment 5 years ago, and over Thanksgiving week I may be scouting "winter cabins" in Aridzona.
It was 5 years ago, also next month, that I took a job in Maintenance.  Biggest mistake of my life, but I haven't jumped off a cliff yet.  Yet.

This year hasn't been the best for me and my family, but I'm trying to keep my chin up and count my many blessings.  One must believe in the "plan".

I have survived almost 2 terms under a blooming friking idiot in the Whitehouse. I was really worried for a while.

Celebrated another year above ground.  It seemed like MDSH and I spent more time with our cardiolygist than we did with our Grands.   :relaxed:

Man the Bush years were rough on a lot of us!
No sir, they were not. They were second only to the glory days of "Big Ron". I bought and paid for two homes under Bush. Paid cash to put my wife through dental school. The only ones who may have suffered under Bush were the government dependent. I was well on my way to a early retirement and then BAM, the country lost its mind and voted in a muslim loving, gun hating, rainbow painting, tax loving retard.  Now I'm stuck working 7 nights a week, 13 hours a night just to make ends meet. Thanks everyone who voted for this oddball. I hope the rainbows and high taxes warms y'all's heart.

Well and those who happened to catch a Hurricane in New Orleans, or had their retirement in the stock market around 2008, or were part of a useless land war in Asia.  But... I digress...

Scotty what exactly do you think changed after Obama's election, policy-wise, that suddenly made you have to keep working?  Taxes really haven't been raised, not significantly, except on the ultra wealthy.

@JohnInCarolina, I'd take Sarah Palin over Bernies socialist regime or Hilary's pseudo-socialist regime.  Not because she's smarter, but because she's not dumber!  Research socialism and quickly you'll reconsider.  If you can afford an Egg you should be smart enough to embrace capitalism and eschew the give away everyone's money who actually earns it.  Or you're happy with our present nightmare.

I'm really not all that smart.  Don't be fooled by all the degrees - they hand those things out online these days.

My brother, you know the above is simply not true. Obama is choking the life out of the upper middle class. As y'all already know, I try hard to stay out of political debates and politics in general. It usually leads to no good. As such, I will quietly stand down and sadly, go back to work.

What nightmare? I've had a nearly 50% increase in income in the last 7 years, bought a home that has appreciated 30k, had patients be able to get the treatment they need through ACA. Rich are richer, everyone else is basically the same. That's due to essentially the same economic policies for the past 35 years. Words are different, actions are the same.

Don't be such a Debbie Downer. The sun rises in the east, sets in the west, and we're all gonna die at some point. We all need more nilhism in our lives.

    Nothing matters. Why worry?
