I need to quit hanging out with @20stone - here i was planning  on flying in  to NOLA to drink @henapple 's beer, and now suddenly he's roped me into cooking something, with a shopping list etc.
NOLA has assured me that there will be no shortage of smoker capacity, and no shortage of FRE (that's military speak for "Friends - Ready to Eat").

As such, I have completed my consultations with my various suppliers of dirty hippy humanely raised creatures, and we are officially headed to crazytown.  I don't know what the rest of you clowns are doing, but I'm bringing over 20 lbs of meat, and I'm flying in.

Using my new profile pic as a guide (thanks @Mickey), I may preshave the spots for the electrodes
    (now only 16 stone)

Gasser by the community pool (currently unavailable)
Scale (which one of my friends refuses to use)

@20stone There will be a crowd of rabidly hungry drooling people...I'm not sure how many but based on our PMI (predicted meat inventory) we should be able to feed 200 plus.

SGH had shown me an insane shopping cart from SRF.  JohnInCarolina has a waygu being shipped to my work.  I'm going to get some pedestrian prime brisket, butts.  Randy is making 15 gallons of gumbo, Red about 20 quarts of red beans, plus whatever other people bring, we're doing some sides and many people coming are bringing stuff.

We will have two custom batches of beer from nolabrew (made for the event).  I have a keg that I might bring.  We have a dining room table full of booze and mixers and two people volunteered to tend bar.

I have a PA system, there will be instruments to be obnoxious on (and rotten vegetables to throw at those being that) and the band will play around 3PM - two sets, and they're awesome.  I mean, really really awesome.

As far as cooking surface goes, we'll probably have 6 large egg, some smaller ones, and a number of other large grill/smokers.  Even a gasser for the hell of it.

Lawyers will be on-site to handle legal issues, and so will a telemetry nurse (SWMBO) who is current on CPR training.

Since Saturday coincides with the neighborhood home tour, we'll probably have a lot of passers-by.

As far as pre-shaving your chest - I'll consult my medical expert to see if that's worth the effort. ;)

Looking forward to it I'M PUMPED!

In regards to chest shaving, those ambu pads are stock on defibrillators in sets of 2 for a very specific reason. No need to waste a razor blade.

I will be more than happy to rapid IVP Adenosine as well.

@Dondgc I would like to get the overnighter stuff prepped and the equipment fired up before 9PM on Friday.  We can go out and maybe do the second line bar ferry thing or whatever and come back around midnight and throw the meat in the stabilized smokers.

double posting this because of the dang lawyers.

So folks, this is our band.  NSFW.  They are the most awesome band IMHO we could get.  And I hope this doesn't scare anyone away from the festivities.  But if it does, you probably shouldn't be there.  (also, my lawyers tell me this WILL be a kid-friendly event, and in no way does this reflect upon actual performance expectations of said band and underwriters of insurance policies that we should probably have but don't except our lawyers are slick mo-fos, etc, et al, bla bla bla).

In full disclosure, I HIGHLY recommend you DO NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO.  My lawyers tell me that I must post it, however, so there we go.  10-4 java hut smokey bear out.

Also, I increased the gig from 1 to 2 sets after seeing this video.  So this is costing me a fortune (1K 4 band).  So make sure you contribute or this will be the last year we do this...I was left paying the check last year.  And I'm PO!
