yes I see them everyday here in destin florida from third story of house im building on the gulf. flying the purple flag for 3 weeks straight but still does not stop tourists from getting their beach onLarge egg panhandle of florida

Sharks gonna do what sharks gonna do. Tourists are sometimes a touch dense about the dangers, but then like Jaws, the local chamber of commerce carries some of the blame. Come on down the water's warm and safe - only if you are in a boat captained by @lousubcap.....Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Sharks are always out there. You have a better chance getting killed in a car accident on the way to the beach than getting bit. I grew up surfing the east coast of Florida and for 5 years in college surfed Smyrna inlet all the time and saw sharks all the time but most florida Sharks won't bite you and if they do you usually just get stitches.

@johnkitchens We really lived at the beach and in the water. A friend of my Dad's took us on a helo ride from the pier to about 5 miles north. Counted 150+ sharks between the surfers and the shore! Eye opening and of course plenty of nurse and reef sharks.
Never really gave it a thought. Grew up more afraid of lightning. Still am.Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga -
