The Chinese go to school all year round I believe from 7am to @9pm starting in grade school based upon testing. Good luck. 

The Chinese also send their very best students here to the US for college and graduate school in the STEM fields.  Somehow at the end of the day, perhaps not all is lost.

They are all of 12 years old when sent here.

One of my good friends in grad school went to Princeton when he was 16.  He was very much American.

Exactly. How concerned should I be about that? I'm pretty ticked right now because those are effectively 2x4s now.

There's not a home inspector on the planet that would have caught this one. I just happened upon it and saw a couple of tiny bumps in the Sheetrock under the window sill.

I wouldn't be too concerned unless it's a load bearing wall with a massive load.  You can replace or sister them.  Or do nothing.
