Thank you for the kind words, 3K over budget, and 60 days behind schedule, but, it was worth it. If you had only seen it prior, it was awful.

Prior to the demolition, and redesign, we had a circa 1950's kitchen with what we believe to be appliances from the 90's, wiring from the 30's and plumbing from the early 1900's.
We took some chances, and thus far have been very pleased with results.

@YukonRon digging the kitchen buddy.  I'm certainly loving the colors too!  I'm taking notes.  Please don't hate on me when you see similar colors in the new house (when ever that happens).

No hate from here. With this granite many of the veins in the rock were gray. We used a color called Aspen Gray, that 1) was a dead on match, and 2) makes the granite explode with the other colors. We used a bright white on the ceiling trim and Windows, to capture the quartz in the rock, the deep reddish brown bamboo floors to capture the darker colors. The cabinets were done in a satin cream, which also brings out the colors as well.
Come on up and see for yourself...anytime. We will show you the cool stuff, and the things we might have done different.
Thank you for the kind words. We love it.

Not much beats being hungry for breakfast and realizing you have hot and fresh BBQ.

I pulled off these two butts last night at 930pm with the plan of shredding them at 5am.  Of course I forgot about them and only shredded right now at 8am.  They were still 140 degrees after 10 1/2 hours!

@YukonRon  That's a great looking kitchen.  It looks like an unconventional space, and you certainly made the most of it.

@blasting - now that's a great way to start the day.  Musta been a high-end cooler for that duration FTC, but don't want to start a cooler war on this thread.  ;)
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

@Sea2Ski my house is 11 years old. Last summer I noticed my gas water heater (in the garage) was leaking. I looked under it and it was rust out. Damn. I thought. But had other pertinent issues. The next day I went to lowes and bought another. Had a neighbor help me change it out. While we were pulling the old one out he turned white as a sheet, as I spun it around, we saw the seam was bulging out, and was about to explode, the pressure valve had stuck and the tank had literally become a damn ticking time bomb.
Damn that was a close one for you.  Glad the story had the ending it did!

Yep, high end, lol.  Coleman plastic - 18 years old with cup holders.

I'm hoping that by the time it needs replacing, Yeti has figured out how to build in cup holders.

Unconventional does not even begin to explain what that area once was. We think when it was built, circa 1900ish(?) the area we rebuilt was just a room with a stove, sink and a place for an ice box of some sort. Not really a kitchen like we would think of today. We installed 6X more cabinet space and 5X more counter space, extra appliance, and the design makes it appear larger, if you can believe that. It was a small room initially, but now, it seems we have more floor space, too. Crazy.

@blasting, I have an old igloo, I use for the same thing. Keeps it warm enough to serve easily for 8 hours when wrapped.

    Breakfast looks awesome too! :)

Our pulls for the cabinets finally came in today. The cabinets have been in for about a year and a half. I hear you about the decision making process. Happy we waited though the ones she found are pretty cool.
